GL 76 -- HG Prices Still Going Up

2,418 posts in this topic

So, less than 48 hours until the Pedigree auction closes.

9.6 OW/W with slight white at the bottom and a better than average chance of having been pressed.

Bid is currently $16,250.

Anyone have a guess as to what it will close at?

$24k- far inferior to serpi's copy.

Sorry, but who is serpi?

joe serpico, otherworlds33 (or close to that on the boards)

Oh, I didn't know. Thanks.

Was he the seller of the original 9.6 copy?

No. It is still a great looking copy, and while we will all nitpick it from the scan you really can't judge a book until you have it in hand. Good luck if you bid and I hope you land it. (thumbs u

That's amazing, considering a 9.4 just went for (was it 16K?). Does the presentation of the book matter that much? I may bid around 25K. Would you guys think I was crazy?

Did you place a bid? If yes, did you win?

According to the updated census there are now 3 9.6 copies of this book. Hmm...

Funny how a sale of over $30K for a BA book will start driving copies out of the woodworks, or into the presses, as the case may be.

and soon the price will be where it should be and I will be able to buy my copy with confidence of proper value, rather than chasing the moon....and then I can officially join the Neal Adams fan club.

I'm thinking around 22-24K... (shrug)

give the man a kewpie doll

I don't think the crash is here I just think it's more in line with where the book should be and the fact that it's not the solitary 9.6 copy anymore..Still a pretty good price though. The 9.4's were the ones going for rediculous prices like 18K..

Nope, didn't bid. Saw the 3 copies on the census though.

When did this third copy enter the census...? I'd like to see a scan of that one...I wonder if it's a straight 9.6 submission or previously submitted pressed copy?
