A mainstream super-hero!

 

The mind boggles at what Alan Moore could have done with the mainstream characters that instead he diverted to pastiches (though very good pastiches)

 

- His Supreme should have been Superman (Hyper-time and all...)

 

- His Promethea should have been Wonder Woman

 

Yes I know some of his greatest successes were taking off from Captain Marvel (Marvelman) and the Charlton Action Heroes (Watchmen), but I'd like to see more of the icons re-invigorated like Swamp Thing, rather than duplicated.

I voted Swamp Thing. He revitalized this character, and introduced John Constantine. Love to see his updated Constantine.

 

A Watchmen sequel sure sounds tempting, but I think that's one of those cases where you just let a good thing be. (Dark Knight Strikes Again, anybody?)

 

As long as he stays writing comics, I'll keep reading 'em. Doesn't matter what he writes. It's usually golden.

I think it would be a blast if Alan Moore took over a mainstream team book. Imagine the fun he could have with the JSA!

 

I disagree, the one real team book he did on a regular basis (Top 10) was not his best work. I vote for Dr. Strange! There Moore could go nuts! laugh.gif

Nice choice with Dr Strange! JSA popped in to my mind mainly due to his League work. For some reason the stuff he has done with a group of literary figures made me wonder what he would do with a team of classic heros. It would be interesting to see, if he was given the freedom, who Alan would bring into the JSA and what mayhem would follow.

I think he should try humour again and develop the Bojeffries Saga further or maybe guest write for Viz in one of their popular strips like Jonathan the posterior vapour emitter.
