Scrooge
Read FC 598 - Captain Davy Jones today. Fun issue with art by Ernie Schroeder of Airboy and Heap fame (?). Lots of action on the seas and riggings to be drawn.

BangZoom
Read FC 598 - Captain Davy Jones today. Fun issue with art by Ernie Schroeder of Airboy and Heap fame (?). Lots of action on the seas and riggings to be drawn. It looks like there must be some great art in that issue. (I especially like the 2nd and 3rd panels.) I've never heard of Schroeder. Did he do much work for Dell?
Scrooge
To be honest, I was surprised to see him show up in a Dell since I know him mostly for his Hillman work. The Who's Who actually indicates this as his only Dell work. Hillman closed shop in 1953 and this is was done in 1954 so he must have picked up this work when he was trying to re-establish a portfolio of companies. Eventually he settled in at Harvey / Feature and did some work for Ziff-Davis before leaving the field.
Scrooge
Recent pick-up. For some reason, I've always liked this cover. Reminiscent in style of many musical LP covers of the time. Ricky's brother died a couple of days ago ...

I bought a copy from Ed (ft88) a couple of months back. Ed is the specialist for these books and I was happy with the copy he let go. I'll try and scan it later to post.
