Batman 663 What is going on?

Let me start off by saying I love Batman and I love Grant Morrison, and I love John Van Fleets art.

 

What Is this Is it a novel is it an art book is it Batman trapped in Sandmans universe.

 

I am so confused. The art is amazing but this style doesn't belong in a Super Hero book. This fits better with Sandman or Clive Barkers hell raiser Or an IDW publication.

 

Everybody post there feelings aswell.
