There are a LOT of high grade 189s out there as that book is in a 4 pack. There were a bunch of 4packs found.

Very interesting, Donut! This book also came up as a result of one of Valiantman's CGC census analyses-- I speculated at the time (see below) it might have been a MH2, but your explanation is more likely.

Anyone out there have a list of the 4packs?

But that leaves us with these odd outliers:

Batman 240 (1972) - (100.00%) 26 out of 26 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Flash 159 (1966) - (90.48%) 19 out of 21 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Flash 176 (1968) - (90.00%) 18 out of 20 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Flash 177 (1968) - (81.82%) 18 out of 22 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Brave and the Bold 72 (1967) - (80.95%) 17 out of 21 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Batman 189 (1967) - (76.67%) 23 out of 30 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Justice League of America 15 (1962) - (60.87%) 14 out of 23 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

JLA 15 is too old to be a Mile High 2 candidate, but I'd suggest the others as possibilities for the long-lost DC Mile High 2's!

And though they are part of key runs, the following books do stand out from their peers (may also be MH2 for all any of us know):

Swamp Thing 9 (1974) - (96.30%) 52 out of 54 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Strange Adventures 213 (1968) - (86.96%) 20 out of 23 books CGC 8.0+ are CGC 9.0+

Many thanks!

Batman #189 9.6....$950.00 asking price....8x guide...worth it?

Personally, I think the price is way off the mark. Granted it is a cool issue with the first Silver Age Scarecrow but I doubt it should fetch more then $500-$600 on eBay. The last Heritage auction had some Pacific Coast Pedigree issues in the 170's and 180' and they did fetch $970+ but the non-pedigree issues floated about $700. And , I do not know about you, but I think some Heritage auction prices are sometimes insane. Irregardless, I cannot see going to much more then 4 times to 5 times guide for it.

950.00 is cheapest I've seen this for a 9.6,If the off centering doesn't bother you and you just want it for yourself,I'd say buy it! I've seen 9.6's sell for 1200.00+. Granted there are only 5 or so in 9.6. Kevin

i have seen 3 in the last few months......everything u say should be 2nd/3rd/10th guessed.........too much misinformation from u.

And stop stalking me too! 950.00 isn't bad for a 9.6 Batman 189 either, even if it is a bit off center, your just shooting it down cause you will never own one,950.00 is too much cash for you to lay down on a book considering it's at 8x guide,Throw the overstreet down your throat when it comes to CGC books Girlyman. for Scarce Silver in 9.4-9.8,going by the Price guide,Like you, is useless. acclaim.gif

DC does suck and so do you.Who cares if I buy 9.0's? I buy 9.0's of JIM and Hulk cause they are too hard to find in 9.4's,My collection is still better than yours ever will be,The problem with you is that you can't seem to understand that the price guide is useless now,If you think you got a good deal on every book you bought then your wrong.I'm not out to flip books,I keep them,so what do i care what i pay for it? your just like a dealer..keep flipping,BTW..why are you bidding on 9.0 JIM's? but yet you knock me for doing the same? I'm trying to collect a run...Don't know what the hell your doin with them. kevin
