Marvel or DC

The heroes that first drew my dimes as a kid were those of DC so I have a greater sentimental attachment to the DC line. DCs are also less expensive to collect, if and when they can be found.

For me it is Marvel. Might be because that's what I started with, but when I look at the two universes I do prefer Marvel. Sorry DC. (I do like Batman movies though...)

I've really gone back and forth over the years. Started with DC (early 90s), then Marvel for several years, back to DC in the mid-00s... I'm about 50/50 between them right now.

Always been a marvel guy, but lately DC is catching my attention. I'm really enjoying the new 52 batmans and justice leagues.

 

However, about half of my collection is Image, actually.

It's not such a problem... TWD, Revival, Nowhere Men, and Thief if Thieves have been financially good to me. Plus I've found stuff I really like, like Comeback, Snapshot, Chew, and many others.

However, in the end, I'm a Marvel superheroes kind of guy! Which means I put up with a lot of garbage story lines, but I always keep coming back.

Marvel circa 1992 pushed me away from comics,with all the gimmicks,and Punisher and Wolverine and Ghost Rider everywhere in every comic.

I think I was at the perfect age around that time, because I WANTED to see more Punisher, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, and even Venom, Carnage, etc. just like nowadays I want to see Deadpool everywhere! . Ugh no wonder I have such a hard time dropping Marvel titles!

How about Amalgam? I can't pick just one, certain charcters I like and certain artists and writers i like. No company has a monopoly of characters and talent. What I would like to see is Robert Kirkman do something with either Marvel or DC. Maybe a Robert Kirkman/Jim Lee team up, I'd read that!

DC. I started out mostly Marvel when I was younger with the Punisher, Captain America, etc. But switched mostly to DC because of Superman, the Spectre, Wonder Woman, Batman, Sandman Mystery Theatre, Gaiman's Death, etc...

I started out reading mostly DC, settled into a rough 50/50 split, and have since gone back and forth as far as which of the "big 2" gets more of my dollars. I'd say that currently I have a few more DC titles on my pull list than Marvel.

Used to be a Marvel purist through and through, but in recent years some of DCs characters have really caught my eye. I want to give them a chance... It's just... there's such a rich, long, multiversal history it's a bit intimidating even thinking about which issue(s) to start with let alone with which character(s).
