Shadow
OK, I finally decided to scan some books in tonight. Scanning them isn't so bad but uploading to Photoshop (which I do have a paid service) takes about 10 - 15 minutes a book. Too monotonous. (If anyone knows a faster way, clue me in. (thumbs u ) Here's a book I just put over at the "Grading" area. This is the book that hooked me back into collecting. I had quit in 1985 at the start of college. I was invited to go to the Motor City Show as a guest in 1994. I went out of curiousity. Up til that time, JLA #8 was my oldest JLA book. I saw this one for $30 and bought it. I had no idea what it was worth at the time but I came unto the realization that I could "afford" books like this again. That's all it took and I was whisked back into colecting. I had that "excited, exhilirating" feeling that you gat at a show. It's no great copy, but it's fine by me for now. Not worth slabbing in the least bit. Shadow
Here's my JLA #5 I bought about 7 years ago. I wish my grading skills were better at the time as I thought this was in really nice shape. It still is decent, but not as nice as the illusion I created in my mind. [/img]
john72tex
Your #3 has the same wavy water-damaged look that mine does(see one of the last two pages of this thread). The ink they used must give scanners problems.

Shadow
Test - if I use Paint to edit down the size and send it to Photshop. It went much faster. [/img]

Shadow
While I'm at it, this #8 I bought in 1981 and was my oldest JLA until 1994 and my purchase of #3 (and return to collecting) At age 15, I thought it was so cool to buy this #8. It probably cost me $5 at the time. [/img]

JLA_ALL_THE_WAY
Wow, you guys let this thread slip to page 2 ?! That sacrilicious!! Here's one I upgraded earlier this year via Heritage (sure hope it's been restored or pressed or altered or whatever term everyone agrees on...that would make it a great conversation piece!). Shadow
Great looking #33! This is also one I bought on one of my early LCS expeditions in my mid-teens. I upgraded it a few years ago, but I don't believe it's as nice as yours. BTW, I only managed to sneak over to the Wynn late Sunday night. It was around midnight and I wanted to get a glimpse of the place. The hotel appears to be beautiful and the casino was packed around midnight.
