Spacemen #001 1

Axe Elf

This run of Spacemen contains some of the lowest-graded magazines in my entire collection.  Most of them present well enough ffrom front-and-back scans, but really only #1 and #8 are in any kind of acceptable shape.  #2-#7 all have significant (1/3 book) spine splits, and #6 and #7 have fully split covers that are either detached completely, or have the front cover hanging on by a thread to one staple.  But hey, the pics still look pretty good!

never heard of the mag before but that is a sweet cover !! looks like they were trying to cash in on the US/Russia space race

Perhaps that had a little something to do with it, but chronologically, this was Warren's fifth magazine title, and two of the first four were Famous Monsters of Filmland, and Favorite Westerns of Filmland/Wildest Westerns, so I think it was primarily just another genre of movies for Warren to cover.  Their next three titles continued that theme, with Screen Thrills Illustrated, Monster World, and Famous Films.
