I would agree with many of the comments about. Gemini are one of the cheapest ready to go. Over time I have gotten to where I buy cases of water activated Registered tape and cases of foam-board. Then sandwich the foam-board (like the extra protection and smooth surface) plus it's harder to bend than cardboard. Plus using this method I can build any size box ( have even built boxes to ship Long Boxes ) can be seen in this post here..
And here are some pictures of various packages I have made. Using this method.

I also use this method for most shipping as it makes most boxes cost only a couple of dollars and really light as well as strong. For single CGC comics I will bubble wrap. Make a box exact size. Bubble wrap that box and make another over it. Usually costing a total of about $3 and can usually ship for about $10. Plus when shipping high Insurance value items , especially international, USPS require it to be shipped Registered which I leave the colored tape off corners as the security tape is the only way for Registered.

I advise shipping 2 short boxes rather than one long. If god forbid longbox gets dropped it can split open like a watermelon.

Also UPS will pack and ship it for you. Not sure on the cost probably $40?

I get long boxes shipped to me all the time via media mail. Costs around $30. If the boxed are good enough, you don't need any extra padding other than maybe at the corners. Tape the lid on well, obviously.
I mean, don't send high grade Golden books like that, but bulk stuff is all good.

Put a box lid on the top and the bottom. That helps. I get long boxes media mail as well. Never had a problem.

Skynwalker reacted to onlyweaknesskryptonite in Shipping long boxes
I have shipped a few long boxes and larger items. When I am trying to add extra protection I will tape on the lid as others have suggested as well as lid on bottom. Then I will wrap box in 1 layer of bubble wrap and tape all edges. Then use foam-board ( usually around $1 a sheet ) and cut sides, top, bottom to size. Using water activated security tape "make" a box that fits exactly to the dimensions (each sheet will do 1 side and top) so this would require 3 sheets with some left over ) once built I come back with shipping tape to double the edges and corners. The reason I use foam-board is that it is lighter and stronger than most cardboard and when both it and the security tape are purchased in bulk it is cheaper , stronger , and lighter than the cardboard. Total weight for the foam-board box and bubble wrap is 14 oz. My last long box I shipped in this packing totaled just under 41 lbs. I will add pictures as well as shipping calculation from USPS from me in Florida to California for an example of rates . Remember if you ship media mail that there is a chance they open to inspect and comics no longer are classified as media so it may either come to your buyer postage due or be returned and a letter stating what is media mail. Also I do not know if an insurance claim arises from a comic damaged shipped media will be covered. Although like other I have shipped it media with good success. Hope this helps.

America's Best Comics #28, 1.0 $195
Schomburg cover (Xela); Tuska Black Terror; Miss Masque
The staples have rusted away and are gone, but the book is complete and every page is still firmly attached together, despite the loss of the staples.
Book has the feel of moisture damage, but it still lays flat and tight for the most part. There is a 1" split at the lower left.
