Oh yeah that's a small tear on the front cover, meant to mention that in the OP but forgot.

This one looks the best of the 3 Tales of Suspense I've posted, was wondering what's everyone's thoughts on the possible grade? Thanks again!

I should have taken a better picture of it but someone along the way added a third staple to this book. Was wondering how big of a hit something like that would cause. Thanks in advance!

Custom Medium Length Comic Book Boxes
StudebakerHawk replied to StudebakerHawk's topic in Comics General
on the replies! Oh damn! You're right, I'm going to have to figure something out and make a new and improved box. I think just cutting them into the sides might not be best for the structural integrity... -
Who needs to spend money on those pricey comic book boxes when you can make your own! All you need is access to old Oreo boxes!

PGM Harbinger #1 (With Coupon)
StudebakerHawk replied to StudebakerHawk's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Thanks! Yeah the back cover is just some weird/loud artwork from the ad. I think the brown discoloration is probably mold - this was in a shortbox in a garage of the most disgusting hoarder type home I've ever been in. -
The only issues I see with this one would be the browning on the edge of the back cover and the fact the book isn't entirely flat. Would both of these issues (and any others you may see) be taken care of with a C&P? Thanks in advance!

Would this be a 0.5 because of the missing piece of page and the barely attached cover or is there a chance for higher?

Will CGC Grade/Encapsulate this...
StudebakerHawk replied to StudebakerHawk's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Thanks for the replies! I measured the thickness and it's 7/16 so it should fit. -
Fantasy and Science Fiction from October 1978? It's kind of a weird size at 7.5" x 5.25" so I don't know if CGC would even be able to encapsulate it or if it would be jury rigged to fit a case. Oh and for anyone wondering it's the first printing of The Gunslinger short story by Stephen King (One of my favorites).

A two part question here. How does CGC grade manufacturing defects? As you can see from the pictures the books was mis-stapled. Second, does a defective book like this sell for less then one of an equal grade because it's less aesthetically pleasing? Thanks!

Two stains on the back cover. I think I read on these forums that CGC considers stains to be a major flaw so I was wondering how much these will hurt this book. Thanks!
