    Many of you have seen me complain about the new slabs and the level of Newton effect they have. As I stated before, I found a resolution I was satisfied with in requesting the thicker #5 slabs. I was told today I can no longer do that and be assured I will get them. Previously I had just noted on the invoice I would like the #5's. Obviously, I don't care on books I am selling but won't be submitting any more to CGC for my PC. To be told the pictures on page 1 of this thread are acceptable is ridiculous.

    I would agree it's jarring. If I didn't find a solution in the thicker cases, I would be submitting elsewhere.

    Not for free. CGC says it's normal. You can request thicker cases on future orders though.

    Asking to have them put in #5 slabs(thicker cases) has solved this issue for the most part(reducing the newton effect by 80%). Otherwise, they will all have some degree of it and it looks terrible in the newest gen slabs.

    Check this out: Two books hit CCS for express press on 6/20. Already back at CGC(express as well) and scheduled for grading today. I had to contact them this morning to make sure they didn't forget to press....

    I think you are referring to the standard cover. There are no 9.9's of the platinum.
