  1. Cool 2nd appearance of the Teen Titans!!
  2. Nope. I think yep. Speculators are short on memory and patience. There are about 3,000 'over-value' "keys" out there right now. I'd say our attention span is pretty vast... I didn't know you speculated on over-valued books. They aren't overvalued when I "speculate" on them...

  4. Question: What's the 1st appearance of Ant-Man? The only thing consistent in this hobby is its inconsistency…
  5. Still holding tight at 'Graded'… I called, asked to check on the status of an invoice, and got a hugh sigh from the CSR on the other end. Sounds like they're getting tired of all of us calling. I have a solution!
  6. Sweet! Not that Greggy's sub it through maybe mine will make it through the bottleneck!
  7. I think he was editing while I was quoting? yeh, I edited the links in my OP.
  8. Advertising your book? Looks like a $250 book to me. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=marvel+spotlight+32+cgc+9.6&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc Or $200 more with a Stan Lee sig. Check the links again Sherlock
  9. Holy pouches!!! I know this one has shot up in price for 9.8 copies, but look what's now a $550+ book in CGC 9.6...WOW. The latest sale for a 9.6 OWW copy was $388, but then this happened today... http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVEL-SPOTLIGHT-32-CGC-9-6-First-Spider-Woman-/261623654598?nma=true&si=HTiMQyVrKTHLecDFErIpV25BYSs%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 http://www.ebay.com/itm/231360185075?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649
  10. When you have something like 9,000 copies graded, half of which are in 9.8, and those 9.8s double in value to $1,000 in the span of a week, that seems like a healthy and sustainable rise to you? I actually have less problem with the prices GOTG related books are getting, as they are less plentiful and prices will naturally go up in those cases due to demand. NM #98 snuck up on nobody, and there are a ton of copies to go around once they get put on the market. Same with X-Force #2, a book we couldn't move for $5 a few weeks ago and now apparently in high demand. Not sustainable. Strange, since X-Force #1 has a 1 page "Cable Guide" write up and illustration on Deadpool. Seems to me this should be his 2nd appearance. Strange, I never claimed it to be his second appearance. I know. I meant it's strange that X-Force #2 is getting hotter. It's either because Deadpool's on the cover, or because people think it's his 2nd appearance. Are you claiming that a non-story, back of the book "dossier" or a non-sports card is his 2nd appearance? To me, the "Cable Guide" in #1 amounts to an advert for an up-coming book.
  11. You need to call. That is crazy. Standard is 15 business day TAT and it's more expensive than SIX other tiers. I have some regular modern's from 6/30 that are starting to ship I misspoke....Value tier... Sitting at 75 business days!
  12. Value - 15 books Invoice Date: 6/23/2014 Sitting at "Graded" for weeks
  13. I agree, I think characters like Wolverine and Gambit as horsemen would be a little weird for a general audience. Gambit is going to appear in Apocalypse before his standalone movie, so it wouldn't be too crazy for him to first appear in Apocalypse as Death and deal with his internal conflict throughout the movie. Then, give him a standalone movie to tell his full story- similar to Origin, but good. If DOFP was Jackman's last X movie, then Gambit will be positioned as the new conflicted anti-hero of the franchise. There's a hidden picture in that cover.... What is it? Inquiring minds want to know...

  15. No, I'm aggiez12 on E-bay. I have no idea who the other guy is. Just pointing out the auction to the group. I wish I have another 8 copies of that book. I'm watching the X-force #2 lots to gauge how my auction did And seriously, my definition of "high grade" is typically anything starting with a 9... Gotcha; now we're all on the same page. I wish I had more copies, too. Several times in the past few months I've passed over X-Force #2 and picked up #11 instead -- as that *may* be a 1st appearance issue. Even for $2 I wouldn't have lost that much if #2 never panned out; sometimes I'm too cheap. My NM X-Force #2 & #11 combo went for $22 on eBay. Sounds like that's at the low end. I always wonder on things like this if there are just too many auctions/sales for the money to spread around. Besides the hassle of individually listing and shipping out 5 different books, that's why I sold them as a lot. I think people will pay a little more with a lot as they might see a better chance at getting a 9.6/9.8 copy. And I've been convinced...I think XF#8 is the 1st Domino. I went back and cracked open one of my copies. Unless the 1st appearance rulebook says that 'flashbacks' don't count, I'd count #8 as her 1st appearance...and the flashback is in that cool as heck Mignola artwork!
  16. X-Force #2 raw is going for $20-25, lots are selling well. And X-Force #1 looks like it's graduated from the $0.25 bin to the $3 bin. Some of these are my recent auctions: X-Force #2 - 5 book lot = $22.70 each X-Force #2 - 8 book lot = current bid of $105 and 12 bidders, 1-day left X-Force #1 - 9 book lot = $3.67 each Not seeing the 8-count lot show up, either via the link, or going to your account. When you say "high grade" -- what grade(s) does that cover? That covers the high ones... Here's the corrected link http://www.ebay.com/itm/141420557451?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Interesting. So 2 different accounts... One just lists "high grade", while the other splits them out in to actual grades. Just trying to figure things out. Some people say "high grade" and that is 8.5 and up; others it's 9.4 and up. No, I'm aggiez12 on E-bay. I have no idea who the other guy is. 17. So, the market for NM 98 is kids and people that sound like you? I don't forsee a lot of $1000 bills coming out of those wallets, after the speculators have had their fill... But...............these kids grow up, get a job, and then chase the books that were significant to them. Same thing happened with GA, SA, and BA books. I can remember when we used to say the same thing about people buying HG Hulk #181s for top dollar in the early 2000s....... That being said, this past weekend we had kids in their mid teens asking for NM #98s. I was sold out a couple of shows ago, but if I had them then raw 9.0-9.2 copies would have been selling for $250+ no problem as local stores are getting $300 for them already. Given that none of them have or will read NM 98, I am not 100% sure they will want it at all. Honestly, the same thing can be said about Amazing Fantasy 15 or Hulk 1, et all. Since when does collecting comics have anything to do with actually 'READING' them? I've never ready most of the keys in my collection, yet somehow, they made it in to my collection. The kids these days are watching Deadpool on Ultimate Spiderman and Superhero Squad, playing as him on Ultimate Alliance and dressing up as him for Halloween. That, and a good movie in 2016 (asking alot from Fox), might be enough to drive demand for this book 25+ years from today.

  20. I agree, # 8 should be her first appearance. I suspect that CGC just overlooked that one. Looked through X-Force #8 and Domino is all through out the book. So, Domino's 1st appearance is: New Mutants 98 X-Force 11 and now X-Force 8 Marvel.com has her 1st appearance listed as X-Force #8 so... back to searching the dollar bins "Domino" is on the cover to #8, just like NM#98. However, looks to be a Strange Tales #114 type of issue, exepct carried forward over several issues. http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Force_Vol_1_11 "Domino is studying up on her teammates when Deadpool makes his appearance. He knocks Domino around and continues to call her Vanessa. He reveals that she has been working as a mole for Tolliver and has been giving him trade secrets on the team but has stopped recently. They continue to fight and Deadpool threatens that she must start giving Tolliver what he wants or Tolliver will come after her. He then reveals that she is not really Domino and has just taken her persona....Tolliver enters the depths of his secret castle. He walks with Pico and enters a room where he is keeping a prisoner. He states that she has been there for more than a year and has not adjusted to their hospitality. The prisoner is revealed to be none other than the real Domino." Thus, #11 is the 1st appearance of the 'real' Domino, as the CGC label states. New Mutants #98 and all of the pre-#11 X-Force books are Copycat, impersonating Domino. Nope. Check the info for issue #8, including: Supporting Characters: Domino - (Only in flashback), (First appearance) …We're given a glimpse of Cable's past for almost the rest of the issue. He's the leader of a team called Wild Pack… Domino appears in flashback, and presumably this is the actual Domino, long before her abduction. http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Force_Vol_1_8 Yep, sorry Aggiez but this is correct. The Domino in X Force # 8 is the real one making # 8 the first appearance, not # 11. Well carp, I guess there's a first time for everything. Honestly, I think it's pretty comical that we're even talking about the 1st appearance of a character like Domino and long-time drekky books like X-Force #8 and #11…the end is nigh
