I can list a bent in half Caterpie card for $100,000,000 but that doesn't mean it's worth that or will sell for that.

You can TRY TO SELL something for whatever price you want

I know that you can list whatever price you want, but if a price is way way beyond reasonable :) then would you not lose a potential buyer. If i m looking to buy that card, and see it listed like 5-10 time a "normal" price would be, then i wont bother taking a closer look at the card or seller at all.

Photos are a little dark and the lighting casts reflections...could hide other potential defects from us.  9.0/9.2 from what I can see. (thumbsu

Thanks for advice. Unfortunately, i already packed this one and put all the boxes in storage room. Those were pics were taken even before the others listed above. Not sure if they help since they were taken still bagged.

What i m most worry about is the white spot close to the lower right corner. If that didnt drag the grade down too much, then i m happy :).

Another thing is this book is almost similar to the other New Mutants 98 (2) i posted in here for grading advice. There are many color rub (as commended) on that that book. Which i assumed that the white dots on the blue background. There are fewer on this one. But are they not printing errors?

    Thanks again :)

It’s an asking price. An SGC 9 sold for $155(Best offer) last month and a PSA 10 for $865.
    I wouldn’t think a 9.5 would go for 9x the ask of a 9, but I don’t follow this market too closely.

Also this listing has been up for over four months, so this may just be a way to draw attention to the seller's other listings. 2c

Still 155 were more than i expected :). Thanks

Those tears at the bottom of the interior pages are quite common. and wont affect the overall grade of the book. From what I can see, I would put your book at a 9.6. I wouldn't wager a guess as to weather its a 9.8 candidate without having the book in my hands, but it might be. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, The cover offset has no effect at all?

Close-up pics of spine corners. I m no expert, but quite a few book I have, got lower grade because of wear at spine corners. (ofc not from CGC but fellow collectors). But how could that not be on a 20-30 yrs old copy.

  6. Hi, Please advice on this. I have a few duplicates, and all of them have the same factory defect (cuts/tears) at the lower egde on the cover. I thought this one is the better ones but when i took the pictures and had a closer look at it, seem like this may be the worst, with plenty of factory defects. Cuts/Tears on both front and back cover, offset cover.1620458008_IMG_20220208_075839(2).thumb.jpg.90ada9c476c2d10dc163a7f017338c85.jpg2068358053_IMG_20220208_075848(2).thumb.jpg.976c0897f6272a90a7dbaf8f8711ba22.jpg1070780636_IMG_20220208_075903(2).thumb.jpg.c89499214b7ade08c960cf2a2e39c592.jpg140639564_IMG_20220208_075910(2).thumb.jpg.0a5a12b108c2673f966d426837619273.jpg94236810_IMG_20220208_075916(2).thumb.jpg.324f8f00b4c2034d528600f261fa4d84.jpg881233561_IMG_20220208_080001(2).thumb.jpg.687e6418047b76a1276929c38ec48daa.jpg235712095_IMG_20220208_080012(2).thumb.jpg.87862927cce867d055b625e504e8fa1d.jpg717341243_IMG_20220208_080022(3).thumb.jpg.8f90003206f2b7d87d9e517e66669b13.jpg2100983025_IMG_20220208_080030(2).thumb.jpg.acd673cf0031c76e619bcca389472121.jpg1762818803_IMG_20220208_080038(2).thumb.jpg.82760f99d44c41e24b95e84dc36dc027.jpg1832111761_IMG_20220208_080140(2).thumb.jpg.72313104f10a7709df13c73a0e451ebe.jpg

Yeah as is I agree 7.5-8.0 but if that is a crease it looks pressable and if removed, this would look as good or maybe a tad better than my own 9.0 copy so something to consider....

Yes, i believe that a press would remove that and the dents on the right edge. But unfortunately, where i m from (norway), i dont think i can find someone to do it.

    How did this happen?

Well, i remember sometime around the end of 80s and beginning of 90s, Marvel sometime used large sharp staples on some books, and a few time when i read the books, the spines got ripped off. Then i got some "great" idea of replacing them with some fine normal staples. Also planning to get them bound to books so it should be fine i thought :). But thing got out of hand, couldnt afford to get too many to get bound and sometime some # missing. (costed almost 100us ea. book of 25issues). The worst thing was i started with almost all of my favorite titles at the time (all spider books, x-books, avengers etc.) not many expensive book, but the shear volume :(

    I agree here...

And yes, restored because of the staple replacement. (thumbsu

    Thanks.

What grade would it be if the staples were not messed up with? around 9.0? Could i presume that grad is reduced around 1.5+/- when messed up as this one.

Because i have almost 1/3 of my collection (at least 1000 books) messed up like this. Had too much free time at that time :)

Not that I'm aware of...what looks "odd"?

On the 1st cover picture, it looks like some small curve on the top edge, and the same on bottom. And the lower right corner looks like it bendt/lifted upward. Alt this and the cover look perfectly flat. But it looks fine on the 2nd picture :). So maybe that was because of the view angle when the picture taken.
