  1. I got into it from the start, and saw that ad. But between my age/income at the time, and the fact that I thought paying more for a worse version of the comic was a terrible idea, I passed. Meanwhile, he contacted you, and years ago after you bought his stuff, I bought your extras on ebay. It's a small small internet.

  2. Is Israel at SDCC? If so, does anyone know where? (And if he is carrying exclusives?)

Also, I know the Omega Key at the IDW booth is slightly different and limited to 250. Does anyone know anything about the Ghost Key or Whispering Iron that is at the show (in regards to being different or not from past releases)?

  3. Grails, did you get that one from Brian? If so, that's exactly two of the ten known to be in circulation/still exist, and based on quite a bit of discussion between the guy who seems to have lucked into the bulk of these, I don't think that a full ten are still around. More than the two we've seen, sure, but who can really say? Let's just gently say that $300 would be below what these have moved at in the past (and despite my current financial state, I would BIN now for $300). I understand that random test prints aren't for everyone, but it's a supremely scarce book with a cult following. And I love it.

  4. Collection update to explode your face!

    Just hung these.

7 (technically 8) Pages of original IDW layout art by Kevin Eastman

    From Left to Right:

    Book 1 Page 7

    Book 1 Page 16

    Book 3 Page 10

    Book 3 Page 22

    Book 4 Page 4

    Book 4 Page 21

    Book 1 Page 2 and 3

Above all that are my 1:50 sketch covers in their shiny new frame.

    Is that all?

    Seriously, awesome.

  5. Cool books, but SO MANY VARIANTS! Don't let IDW kill their latest goose. I know they're going to do some, that's who they are and how they survive. A little restraint would be nice, just saying.

Now that that is out of my system, how many have there actually been on the new series? And does anyone have a spare one of the second to last issue of V4 with the sketched interior cover?

And (most importantly), is the variant of #1 the only TMNT Sam Kieth has done, or is there more?

  6. Can you get a closer pic of the stamp on the right edge of the book? I think all of my copies have a different one than that. (In my head it's of Julie)

Also, given a decent budget, I'd love to see what Wright could do with the Maxx. Given no budget, I'd like to see him do it starring me as Mr. Gone. And given eleven American dollars, I'd like to see him direct a Nescafe commerical. (But seriously, I just had a Spaced bender. The man can do no wrong.)

  7. Rocky, both Sean and I voted, "no" and we claim you as a friend.

Many who consider you an enemy voted, "yes".

    Just some food for thought.

    :roflmao:

    (thumbs u

I wrote, and then edited out, and am now writing again,

you're creeping me out with the low brow gremlin only posts.

It is a terrifying amount of restraint. Samuel Clemens would be impressed.

  8. i would have voted "yes" if i thought you could keep it to five paragraphs. if it turns out that you can, just mentally adjust the numbers accordingly
5 paragraphs is too much. Especially, if they are long. I say 200 words or less.

200 words? Can you hold back the force of a hurricane with a tissue paper fan? Can you capture the tempestuous fury of a tsunami in a dixie cup?

    You're getting good.

  9. And who cares about the labels? It's still a quarter book when not Signature Series"ed"

It's more about others. When you are in the hobby not just for your own sake, but to help fellow collectors know and understand things about a character, it helps to guide them down the right path where their favorite character started out.

Additionally, setting the record straight will keep collectors from being duped. Otherwise, you have a market with certain sellers posting fake interviews with creators pushing books that didn't even tie into a 1st appearance or storyline. Even better if CGC is kind enough to help in the effort by correcting its label.

Fair enough. It just seems excessive to me on what I believed to be a nonissue, common knowledge situation, but like anything in this hobby, people tend to disagree on minutia, so a (semi) impartial third party's printed statement can't hurt (maybe?).
