Some noticeable wear along the spine on the front, small chip missing upper right front cover, left top of back cover a bit chewed up looking (not sure what kind of defect that’d be noted as), and possibly some kind of very small stain on lower right FC (but very hard to tell)? I’d say 8.0 with press. (Again, see comments from other post and take with a big grain of salt).

Blunting. Also didn't notice the chip, going to check that now. Luckily though that sort of damage isn't on the more valuable comics I'm sending in

Some stress by the staples and a somewhat crushed corner bottom spine, but I don’t see much else. I’d go 9.0/9.2 with a press, but not sure how much the crushed corner would deduct. (See my comments from your other post)

Check my post about my punisher 1 limited. It has the same sort of damage as this, but worse. That said I believe it's a manufacturing error as everything else about the comic is perfect. There isn't even blunting just some small part of the corner that looks torn or something. It's a constant issue I find with those specific copies direct ot newsstand. They probably won't give me the manufacturing defect pass on the grade but we'll see.

Hi! Hope you don’t mind me chiming in—I’m still pretty new to grading but really want to test myself on the forums so figured this was a good way to have a written record in case you repost the actual grade later on. Anyone feel free to correct me if this is frowned upon on the forum! Figured I’d start with higher grade bronze/copper/modern since that’s what I’m most familiar with.

Many color breaking ticks on the back as well as a small color breaking crease to top left corner of the back cover, but the front cover looks gorgeous to me aside from a tick near the very bottom of the spine. I’d go 8.5/9.0 with a press, since most the blemishes are BC. (Again, let me know if I’m overstepping here—I just find grading a really fun exercise)

I used to think ticks would be graded harshly, but as long as there isn't alot and nothing too bad, it can still get 9+. I'm guessing after a press ill get a 9.2. Then again, I sent in a Nova 1 that looked worse than this a month ago and got a 9.4. There's a bit of a theory that when you send raws in for a ss, graders might give you a little bump too. Not sure how true it is but we'll see.

Just the two largest color breaking creases look like they'd measure 6", so with the smattering of other smaller defects like the spine splitting at the corner & staple impressions in the cover, I'd go with 5.0±0.5

I'm hoping for a 6.0, I've seen much worse in 5.5 so that's all I base that off of. I think a press could help lots. Eitherway I'm sending this in!

I've got a nice copy of this one too in newsstand with only a small bindery tear. My facilitator has passed over it multiple times b/c he says CGC grades this book particularly hard (along with Secret Wars 8). I'm going to say 9ish too, not accounting for this.

Is the bottom left on the back some sort of stain too?

We shall see since it's a vacation newsstand and my luck thus far has been great. I'm sending this in for a defalco signing so hope it'll be fine

Looks maybe 8.0 or poss 8.5 due to what looks like a big old fingerprint next to Colecovision on back cover and the apparent stacking bend near spine on back cover. (Never noticed the 'Frenz & Janson' on the wall before! Neat.)

Nope, was just the lighting. Checked myself. I think the press will take of secondary issue

  8. Okay.. so a risky one. The book looks great but I am concerned about staple rust. It doesn't appear to effect the pages as I'm seeing. I do not know if this is actually rust, i have never encountered rust before so need some opinions and what grade I could expect on this.
