  1. I am pleased to offer the opportunity to board members to own any or all of these premium Spideys before they pass to an auction house. A quick check of the census or GPA will confirm their rarity. I am the original owner of each. Whatever else that may mean to you, be assured it also means I am not a desperate seller! My house and cars are all paid for. I am in the slow process of liquidating my collection and fully intend to sell each book at a price that reflects its full value. If you are looking for a hot deal or see an opportunity to flip one for a quick profit, please save your offers for someone else.. As there is no cost savings to me for combining books, there is no savings to be passed on. Therefore, each negotiation will be for a single book. All communication will be via PM or email and shall remain confidential. This is not an auction to the highest bidder, nor do I make any committment to sell any book. This is merely an invitation to pursue a transaction. I appreciate your interest, and if nothing else, enjoy the pretty pictures.

One final request, while I do have other books to sell in the future, I do not have prepared price lists and scans nor the time to pursue specific sales at this time. I do not have books of this quality for any other titles.

I've also got a lot of books like you describe (well, no tape :)) I'd love to pass them on to true collectors. but I have no idea how to reach them. I've searched for general threads and find little or no activity for many titles. My grading skills are poor in lower grades and I don't have the time to sell books $5-25 a pop and argue over grading! Can anyone offer suggestions? I'm sure my question better fits some other forum/thread, but I spend most of my time here. TIA

I think your best bet is to put up some scans in the PGM forum. Non-key, low to mid grade ASMs will sell for about 50 to 75% of OSPG in the marketplace. Alternatively, you could try ebay. Do you have a 13 or 29 for sale?

Thanks for the reply. I'll likely slab my better books above $100. Better value for me and the buyer. I'd really like to home in on the lower grade collectors for the lesser books. I'd rather sell an attractively priced run, than be cherry picked for one $25 book at a time. BTW, my 13 is low grade, but my 29 is NM. It's one of those I plan to submit. Thanks again.

  4. Hi, I'm new to this thread ( and Collector's Society). Sadly, unlike most of you, I'm not collecting, but liquidating. I've had many of my comics from day one. I've chosen to slab some of my books to remove doubt from the equation. Not that I have 100% confidence in CGC, but it seems better than the alternatives. This forum seems prime for attracting true Spidey fans. I can think of no better home for my books.

I'm requesting your opinions as to how I should/could proceed. I have a complete run from 1-100 in varying grades, but realistically doubt that has any value. Everyone is looking for a few missing books, right?

I have only submitted a dozen or so books to CGC, and I'm not convinced of the value on submitting books under $100. So, registering my entire collection is rather misleading, since it seems only graded books are included.

I welcome any comments or advice. I'll gladly share images of any of my books .

    Thanks. Joe

I would strongly agree that books with less than $100 should not be submitted...that's actually about borderline as your cost for slabbing will be at least $35/book...

Post for starters issues 1-10 in the PGM-book Thread and we'll help with the grades and values...once the price is right for both seller and buyer, ASM always gets snapped up in 24-48 hours...especially for issues 1-50... :headbang:

24-48 Hours? Make that 24-48 minutes, if that, especially if they are priced propperly. Spideys are typically good sellers in that range...just ask trmoore54, he's sold me quite a few in my collection...all his under coppies.

I appreciate both your comments. I suppose "properly priced" is a relative issue. Proper to whom? While there are probably many interested buyers on these forums, the question is, is this the best place for ME to sell my books? I'll spend some time in the for sale forum for perspective. The PGM book thread is a great tool, and fun. I don't know the guidelines and do not wish to abuse the thread. How often or how many books is acceptable? As for ASM1-10, 7 are slabbed, some in transit back to me. They range from 3.5-8.5. I'll probably rescan and create a collection when they get here. That seems to be an efficient way. Again, thanks.
