ok thank you so much!

It's not a complete hole but as you can see it does look like a hole. If a book has something like that what is the best possible grade it can get?

I can't seem to sign on to CGC boards on my phone

ok thank you so much! i was going crazy! -
I forgot to leave a feedback on my recent purchases from Beachbum. All the books I bought were packed super well and I can't thank him enough for the free comic books he gave me during the give-away. I really appreciate it! Thanks a lot!

Great Seller! He even gave me a Nova Sketch to go along with my Nova #1! I'll be hanging that on my wall for sure. Thanks again!

I thought that too and I took it outside and looked at it under sunlight. It was still not as white as i remembered. Maybe you are right, in my mind it just looked nicer 4 years ago.

Thanks~ I just needed reassurance!

i kept the book on the first floor of a house in a cgc white box. There are no scratches on the case, it's just that it seems to have gotten yellow or maybe that's my imagination? I'm in NJ, would that really affect it that much? edit - maybe it is just my eyes playing a trick on me. The other books in this thread have that same color. I just imagined that the cover was suppose to be like blinding white. =/ Can you give me some suggestions on where to put my white short box full of comics? The first floor of my house is pretty cool so i would assume it's a good spot. What about the heater during the winter? Will that affect the books?

This is my copy I bought raw on ebay 4 years ago. I graded it and got a 9.0! Here's the thing, I look at my copy now and I feel it's not as beautiful as I remembered. How much protection do slabs give to the comics? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Sunoco replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
hahaha it's not like that at all. i really just got lucky with the hulk cause the main comic guy wasn't there. As for Mind the Gap and all the books i got, I want to keep it as an investment for the long term. I usually get into comics every couple years and then forget about it for a couple years . Like i just started coming back to these boards after a 3 year absence because of the avengers movie (btw - i bought an iron man 55 back then because i liked drax the destroyer after reading annihilation and not cause of thanos ). -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Sunoco replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I think my lcs is mOre concerned with magic than comics. They do have ridiculous prices on some of their back issues once they realize what it is. I actually bought an incredible hulk 340 here for cover price which was $1.25 i think. It looks like a nm copy too. I also went there today to find new x-men 128 but they didn't have any. What other issues should i try to dig up at my l s? -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Sunoco replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I went to my local comic store to get mind the gap after seeing it get hype here on the Modern boards. So i went and luckily they had a lot copies so i got 2 copies each of 1a and 1b. I started browsing some more and found a pile of thief of thieves!!! I couldn't believe they had copies left! I ended up getting 3 issues 1s and 3 issues of 2 all first print. The weird thing was there was no copies of 3 and in the new releases, there were 2nd printings of issue 3. Total haul all at cover price: 2 mind the gap 1a 2 mind the gap 1b 3 thief of thieves 1 3 thief of thieves 2 1 saga 1 Thank you cgc boards for letting me know about these awesome books! I normally don't check the modern boards but so glad i did! -

so i hit up my first ever garage sale and i don't know if i got a steal or not. didn't bring anything just happen to stop by in the morning. i got it 40 dollars for these books but the conditions are not too great. he had a lot of stuff but couldn't go through all of it. only thing i went through were his x-men boxes. i think the best condition was wolverine #1 (other than deadly genesis and deadpool) but even that one i don't think can get in the 9 range. From top, left to right X-men 221, 120, 211, 142, 32!, Wolverine 1, deadly genesis 1, x-men 213, 137, deadpool 66 (thought it was worth something i didn't have any price guides).
