  1. Yup. W pages matter for all books, just like newsstand copies matter for Copper..........
  2. But I thought that W pages does not fetch a premium..........

  5. Just thinking about past conversations, and this is probably the 4th or 5th time I can remember prices spiking since CGC started up. Each time we talk about the jumps not being sustainable, only to see books pop again 3-5 years later. If you are looking for a copy of a long established key, buying one once the run up ends and they plateau for a bit has been the way to manoeuvre in between run ups.
  6. GSX 1 is in a run up across all grades now, just like we have seen with IH 181 in the recent past. The high end pops and everything lower adjusts up.
  7. When I get books back from CGC for my PC that I feel are overgraded, I sell them and replace them with what I consider to be an accurately graded comic in the same grade. It sucks in some cases (e.g. my previous CGC 9.8 GL 87) as you have to pay considerably more within a couple of months time when books are running, but at least I do not have a book in the run that irks me because I don't feel it is a nice as the stated grade.
  8. The retailer incentives took off more. I was selling drek like Chaos Effect Alpha/Omega Golds for $80+ raw on eBay that I was buying for $1/less at stores and shows. The signature series books went crazy price-wise for a time then as well. It was fun to clean out stores and have the owner/employees question why you want Valiant since it ruined the comic industry and is worthless.
  9. Frick. I meant 1988 - 1992. The one group of books that was great to sell back then was Valiant. Between 2001-2003 there was a surge in prices. I was getting prices for raw books back then that are higher than what graded copies go for now.
  10. Free money + movie speculation = high prices. The X-Men BA run has been undervalued for a long time IHMO. Now, with the potential of D+ and movies, it is popping along with FF. They are the two big franchises that have not been given the MCU and D+ treatment yet due to being at Fox.
