I do buy a fair number of books from mycomicshop and they use boxes that fit slabs and they are strong and compact.  They then ship those custom boxes inside bigger boxes for better protection.

Great Info, Thanks! (and thanks for the pic) I see that they do sell them on their site as well (but a bit pricey ($2ea for 25 / $1.79ea for 100).
QUESTION - when you say they ship it in a larger box do you happen to know if they use one of the USPS priority flat rate boxes or do they use a "normal" box (just wondering if I can get away with one of the USPS's free boxes) and I would imagine they are still using bubble wrap / packing peanuts between the 2 boxes correct?

I purchased a CGC Slab off ebay and the shipper used slab shippers to ship the book. It was not a good experience

Alright! thank you... that is exactly the type of info I was looking for! Very much appreciated... I hoped that I could have saved some time with these but as I could find such little info I was skeptical.

Again thanks for sharing your experience!

There is a sticky thread entitled 'How to pack your books for shipping'  at the top of the very forum you posted to.  It has been viewed 388,000 times.

I did read that (before I posted, and again now after your assuming I hadn't) and that thread (at least the first dozen pages or so) fully focuses on packing books to send to CGC and if you read my post clearly I am needing to pack slabs that I have received from CGC but more importantly I know how to pack slabs from CGC BUT I simply wanted to know if anyone has used SLAB SHIPPERS and if they had good or bad experiences with them. That is all... If you have not, or don't know anyone who has and shared their opinion with you then there is no need respond. Just want some feedback from people who have actually used this product.

With these bring your only posts, people may be thinking your just promoting your own website

Actually there was no action on this post until I commented on it again which us why I did :-)

BTW - This is not my website, I am looking for a safe affordable and fool-proof way of shipping slabs as I have a lot going to be coming in in the next months and I won't be around to pack them so I am looking for a way where my family members can pack one up quickly without the need of sourcing expensive bubble wrap.

I am actively sourcing the community for feedback on those who have used this system to gauge if people have had damage or issues with it.
In fact it seemed curious to me that the site / product claimed to have been selling this system for over a decade and it seemed odd to me that it never popped up in any of my research until last week.

As you can make these out of any piece of styrofoam, I would hope no one here wasted money on them.  Have you shipped any slabs?

Again you need to source styrofoam and these have pre-cut slots so 1-3 can fit into one free 1095... and at $1.50 a unit this seemed like the cheapest and possibly the safest way for me to ship slabs (again bubble wrap is expensive when you use a lot of it and in the past I have needed 2 pieces of stiff cardboard to sandwich the slab in before bubble wrap. and then there is the time factor (cutting the boards, taping the boards, wrapping the slab...

This was my first post as I start to my journey to clean, grade and sell off some of my very large collection that I have had for years.
I am a bit surprised that such an simply question about advice shipping a slabs would have garnered 1) accusations of self promoting, 2) scolding for bumping a post that laid inactive for over a weeks time 3) no real world feedback from anyone who has actually used the system in question... I had always found the comic book community to be a pretty inviting one but if I hadn't already had prior experience to prove otherwise this simple post would have really cast doubt on that assumption.

IF anyone has used this system and has good or bad experiences please do share. Especially if your experience lead to a damaged slab.

    Thanks!
