People can ask whatever they want for a comic. The watchers are probably following to see if it actually sells for that, not necessarily interested buyers. But I didn't research the specific comic. Just saying it is not uncommon to have a lot of watchers on a way overpriced item. Maybe 9.8's are particularly challenging. Some people pay up for the grade.
So what happens if it does sell for that price?
-
Just checked ebay and the last 9.8 sold for $79.77 and the one that sold before that was an auction where someone won it at $76.
-
So I recently bought a 9.4 Signature Series Nightwing 1 (1995). One of my favorite covers.
So I saw a 9.8 Nightwing 1 (1995, not signed) for $179.
Is this overpriced? I don't think any recent ones sold anywhere near that price.
It also has 24 watchers, so it feels like I'm missing something here.
What am I missing?

Thanks everyone!

I'm selling a CGC 9.6 comic on ebay and need to know how much the comic and the case weigh together.
Does anyone know?

If someone says there is only one copy in circulation, what does that mean?

Yup, still over priced but this is one of those books that is always a sellers game; it comes up rarely, and is a fairly in demand iconic cover, so often they can just sit on an overpriced listing and see what happens.
I want one, but alas need to find a copy for around $1k in order to get in on it.Yeah, as much as I'd like to have this book, I feel like there are other books in the same price range that would be a better deal.

You should subscribe to https://comics.gpanalysis.com/ for accurate GA sales data. Comicspriceguide is... not that.
Looks like this same book (purple label 1.5 with trimming) sold for $2325 in 2021, so that's probably a good ballpark. And the floor for any complete copy is likely in the $1-2K range.
So if I'm understanding correctly, this is an overpriced listing?

unless you basically can't get a copy of the book in question any other way.
What's your opinion on this listing?
It doesn't really seem like there is any other way to get it.

Ok thanks everyone
I'll sign up for the other website.
Didn't realize how bad comicsprice guide was.
Do people sill want a restored version of this book?

Yes, and it's not close. Especially if you're looking at cover signatures.
Why is that? I'd figure people would want the artists signature.
Is it bc a book without a signature is considered pure?

Because a lot of buyers hate any form of writing on their books, including signatures, so if it's in a blue slab you might get more bidders for the book.
Would you say *most* buyers would rather have a non-autographed copy of a book than an autographed version?

Checked for the sales history. I assumed your book is about FA to FA/GD unless it's completed included the back cover and all pages are accounted for. The price ranges $167 to $475. The last sale was 2019. 50 bucks for this book is a nice investment.
Oh yeah, it's complete. All pages, front and back cover too 😀
Yea, only paid $50 for this back when I was in high school

Thanks
I've enjoyed reading it.
Will either buy a digital copy whenever they decide to release one or if there are any collections featuring this issue I'll get that.
Am just happy to own a copy of it.
Are there any collections featuring this issue?

^not sure how to unquote you guys, sorry
Hey everyone,
I decided to send it in to get graded and to preserve it. I don't plan on selling it.
It's pretty sentimental to me.

I would investigate how much it would cost and what repairs could be made to make the book better...if not then I agree with above
Is that the same as restoring it?
(Honestly asking, not trying to be a smartass)

Am I missing something here? Why is it so much?

Does it affect stats on gpanalysis?
I'm only asking because if gpanalysis only judges value by ebay sales, its seems like a worthless site at that point.
