Thought some of you might enjoy seeing this. I honestly don't remember who I got this from. I think somebody gave it to me as a gift which I'd stored away for a long time. I know there're collectors on these boards who like to get foreign versions of certain comics. This French language (right??) one is the cover to AAMOW #52 by Kubert. The interior B&W stories are all 50s stories by Severin, Heath, Novick, Andru/Esposito, and Drucker. Pretty amazing that it includes such an awesome array of artists.
That is beautiful!

Thank you for sharing your top ten Brandon, they are all exceptionally beautiful books and you are rightfully proud of your collection.
You have an excellent focus, and it is nice to have another DC guy journaling.

My books arrived yesterday by UPS.
Total time elapsed - 4/1/2012 through 10/8/2012 - or 191 calendar days.
But I like my grades.

I know I can't see the frame too well in the photo - but the depth looks like it would hold both a piece of glass and the CGC holder. Conservation glass isn't that expensive for pieces that small - I would simply go to my local frame shop and purchase pre-cut conservation glass that fit in front of the comic - if I really wanted to display my book and not a poster-sized scan of my book. You may not be able to get a national craft store that does framing to sell the glass individually, but a glass store or locally owned shop certainly would - I have my original comic art displayed that way, and the guaranteed 100% UV protection is worth the extra couple $$$.

I also picked up the Avengers #4 and JiM #83 copies. They are super nice and headed to CGC

The mailman was good to me today:
It's my dream to one day own all the Green Arrow covers from More Fun Comics & Leading Comics. I had to start with this one - it's my favorite and it features the very cool Arrow-car.

Five sent in pre-screen, five back.
I'm scared to see how many New Mutants #98 CGC 9.8's you have up your sleeve
Just a couple....I sent in 8, got 7 back.
Ahhh - 9.8 the "new" 9.4
-
Needless to say, I am very pleased with this book. Probably the toughest issue of this run to get in high grade as there is only one 9.4 in the census and now this one 9.6.
Ken
Very, very nice book
Congrats.

After talking and coordinating with a guy for about two weeks to see approx 50,000 comics from a store backstock that closed sometime in early-mid 90s, today I finally got to go through the first 10% or so of the inventory. And I had a blast doing it. Recently, I looked at about 70 boxes of another store's backstock and the collection was mostly quarter fodder 90s drek. That wasn't the case today. There was a wide range of issues available, and some of it was drek, but there were many issues that made it a pleasure to waste 4 hours on. I'll probably go through some more tomorrow and could take awhile to go through it all.
Here's a sampling of what I bought today...and did I mention the collection was chock full of issues with MJ inserts?
Starslayer #2 Nice Grell issue...
...but what was really great is what I found on the backing board...
Well, I may not be a CGC signature witness, but that's definately Mike's signature and sketch. Heckuva nice find! I love that kind of surprise.

Just got it home today. I was hoping for an 8.5/9.0 but I can see why it got an 8.0,
just minor stuff. I've had it raw for a very long time. I am still happy with it, even an 8.0 is the 2nd highest graded ?!?
I heard they are going to make a movie about Fireman Farrell and this book will
will be on everyone's wantlist ().
I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers, that's for certain!

I have a pic of my 110 in my set. I love the book.
If I remember the giant hand comes and saves this guy over and over during his life, I don't remember why the aliens felt obligated to help him - bug I remember it was an obligation for something they were the cause of when he was a youth...maybe.
