Thank you everyone!!!

I thought C/P might help with the warping on back cover.

My brother-in-law found this book in the family attic. Thought I would get it graded for him.

If I get a book signed by Simonson at his table, can I get a CGC rep to certify the signature?

I will be submitting Journey Into Mystery #83. (Walkthru)
I also will be submitting some "modern" books that FMV seems to range $100-$600.
Do all tiers need to be submitted separately?
Many thanks
Paul

Hi,
Note the arrow I drew on your image pointing to the area that we suspect is color touch bleed through. Ink added going through the front cover to the interior. Have a look at the letters at the top of the front cover, specifically the word "JOURNEY" and look to see if any of the black of the letters have been inked over. If you hold the book and move it around so that the light of the room passes over the cover if it has been color touched it will be revealed because the ink added will reflect the light different than the sheen of a printed cover.
I think the book presents well and I see it getting a 4.0 possible 4.5 grade.
No uneven reflection, no flare with blacklight. Looks almost like some kind of oil stain with unknown darker spots on inside cover.
Also a little fingerprint transfer over the U and R in Journey (cover)

"color touch"
Basically someone tried to improve the appearance by coloring it in. Professionals can do really nice work. Amateurs may use magic market. Especially in the 80s.
I don't see any color touch, but I do think there is tear seal, which would be restoration. Other's may know more than me.
Thank you! And thanks for guiding me over to this page to get some advice.

What's going on with top interior of the back cover. It looks like it could be CT bleed through, but I didn't see any indication on the front cover.
What is a CT bleed? I don't have many answers. Bought raw as a kid in the early 80's and hid away in a box in AZ.

It's likely going to be walk through for a big book like that.
If you post pictures in the spare a grade area, you'll get some good guesses on the grade and possibly advice on pressing.
Thank you for this. Picture up now in spare a grade. JIM #83

First submission to CGC; very nervous about the process. Looked at comps on Ebay and various comic book sites. 3 different 4.0s looked completely different to me...
What is the recommended tier? Looks like Walkthru may be the only option for this key...
Journey Into Mystery #83 (could be anywhere from a 2.0- 4.4)
Batman 181 - ist Poison Ivy (will get cleaned and pressed)
in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

I agree. This will be a gift for the above mentioned brother-in-law.
