quite an improvement, I'd agree you got lucky. I'd assume the stain is still a little visible if inspected closely. Who did the cleaning?
Yeah you can still see it a bit.
I did the cleaning and pressing myself. -

Cheers pal.
I think I might have got a bit lucky on this one. 🤷♂️

Hi again.
Your feedback would be gratefully received on this here beauty.
I’ve given it a clean but I’m yet to press it.
Some wear on the bottom right corner and colour rub on the right hand side, but I’d really like peoples opinion how bad the tears on the back would affect the grade.
I’ve put some white paper behind the tears to make them more visible.
I thought I’d got a bargain but completely missed the back tears. 🙄

When I first submitted these I had heard horror stories of how long the Economy tier was taking.
Happy to say it was only 39 days turnaround and that was submitting to CGC U.K. and them getting the books back to me from the U.S.
Now this one I’m really pleased about.
Had high hopes for a 7.5 so getting an 8.0 white pages blew me out of the water.

Really happy with the grades and can’t wait to get some more sent off now.

Cheers everybody.
I think I might send it off even though it’s mid grade.
It’s for my own collection and It looks a lot nicer in the flesh, and when slabbed up it should look great displayed.

I would be interested in peoples opinions on this issue.
Wondering whether to keep it raw or get it slabbed ?
I’ve given it a quick press and a clean and can flatten out the bottom left crease near the barcode more.
Also a small chip on the back bottom left corner_
Just noticed the top right back. It looks like a stain but it seems to just be the scan. 🤷♂️
Cheers for looking.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and have my first guess.
8.5 -9.0

I’ve seen plenty of copies in much worse condition.
I’d be stoked to have that in my collection.

4.5/5.0. Another tweener IMO. FMV around $300. Historical census data doesn't differentiate between newsstand/direct, but there there are nearly 25K graded copies & this would land in the bottom 10%. If I care about a book for my PC & the price isn't prohibitive, I'd buy a higher grade copy slabbed or not and try to sell this as-is. I'm good and part 1 of this plan, terrible at part 2, so I have numerous key comics in mid-grade condition just sitting around.
Thanks again. It is for my own collection and it was a bargain when I bought it so maybe I’ll go for it.

You are correct, this is the newsstand edition. *If* there are direct and newsstand editions, the scannable UPC is the newsstand. Direct editions may have a slash across the UPC or something like a spider-man graphic in the box. The front looks pretty solid. Maybe toward a 9.0; however, it does look like there's a water stain across the top back edge. I'd want to see the inside of the front & back cover for more staining evidence and whether or not the stain goes into the inner pages before making a definitive grade assignment. Just the staining I can see probably drops this below 6.0. That means FMV around $200, so it depends on what your plan is. Cost to grade, press, ship is around $40-50. Might look like a higher grade book in a slab for a PC, or you might just be breaking even on selling it raw vs graded depending on how you acquired it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for that scburdet.
Ive now added a couple of pics of the inside back cover. Not sure if the blue ink is overspray or just somebody’s carelessness.
The books for my own personal collection so if a get it graded it is what it is. 🤷♂️

Could do with some help please on grading this book.
I think it’s a newsstand copy but if I’m wrong I’m sure somebody will put me right.
Deciding if it is worth me sending in for grading.
There’s a nasty stain on the top of the back cover and I’m unsure how much this will hold it back.
Thanks for looking.
‘Chris.

guess I had better pull my finger out now and get my first submission in.

Any idea if this book was pressed? The CGC book lists some defect from improper pressing. I can't tell if the blue spots on the back are some kind of distributor's ink or ink transfer. A hard one to judge from photos.
It doesn’t appear to have been pressed.
The blue dots feel kind of raised. Going off the shape I can only presume it’s some sort of tide line that some ink or something has stuck to it ?

Still deciding on my first Silver Age submission and this should be the last one I need help with.
once again any opinions gratefully received.
Tiny tear to bottom middle front page.
Also some weirdness going off on the back cover. Feels raised like dots. I’m not sure if at some stage it got damp and something stuck to it ?
Cheers again.

Cheers for that.
