Regarding makeup remover pads, I was having a bit of cancer fog and couldn't remember the term "white cotton rounds" for some reason! I guess I use both terms interchangeably.
Regarding amateur mistakes, I don't consider myself a professional cleaner/presser, but I've done the same procedure on many of my books, some for grading & some left raw for my pc. My main concern was the category of "Conserved" when no cover cleaning or interior lightening was done. Unfortunately, I don't have the time, skill, or equipment to do an aqueous or uv light bath on my comics.
I'm also concerned with the notes of stains on front and back, that I never saw before sending it in or in those scans of the slabs. I know the grading is a very subjective process, so it wouldn't surprise me if the grader saw something I didn't. I just wanted more clarification on what they saw, so if I was the cause of any of it, I wouldn't do it again, because this is one of the most valuable comics I've ever bought, but also the first submission I've ever received back as "conserved".
