  1. Thanks for your opinions @scburdet @grendelbo. I've corrected my original post. Yes I meant restored grade, not qualified. Yes, I'm hoping that the spray paint won't get a Restored Label on it, that is, if I ever plan to submit it for grading in the future.
  2. Hello, I'm just wondering where this Amazing Spider-Man #101 (first print) would fall on the spectrum of lower grade comics? It's definitely a low grade copy. As you can see, there are lots of problems with this book: stain on the letter "S" and Morbius' dialogue caption on front cover, paint stain on the lower right front cover, water stains on the back and front cover, etc. The comic's complete and has all the pages. Also, does anyone know if this book would get a "qualified" Restored Label or Regular Blue Label if I submit it for CGC grading because of the spraypaint? I don't know what the previous owner was trying to do with the spraypaint, but I'm pretty sure the last owner wasn't trying to do color touch on it lol! Thanks for your opinions!
  3. Thank you @LowGradeBronze and thank you @grendelbo for your opinions. And thank you everyone for your comments!
  4. I'm wondering if could get a few more opinions of this book based on the new photo that I uploaded? The new photo shows the spine more clearly and I believe it might change the consensus opinion (so far) of 3.0/3.5 to something else. Thanks all!
  5. Thank you for your opinions so far. I've added one more photo (very last one) that clearly shows the splits on the spine. Arrows indicate all the splits. @scburdet: it seems that the grading standard is a bit more lenient on square bounds. Overstreet Guide would grade this kind of spine split (between 2" and two thirds the length of the book) as a 1.5, but maybe collectors/graders penalize large spine splits on regular comics than on square bounds?
  6. Hi folks, This Marvel Feature #1 is definitely a low grade copy but I'm wondering where it falls on the low grade spectrum. Comic is complete with all the pages but there is a spine split about 2 to 2.5" long from the bottom and also spine split about 1 inch long from the top on the back cover, and a spine split 1 about one inch long from the top on the front cover (see the last 3 photos below). I've updated the photos to show the spine (see last photo below): as you can see from the arrows, the arrows show the tears and splits on back and front covers. The back cover is barely hanging on to the spine and I don't want to handle this book too much for fear of making the spine tears worse on the back cover! The front and back cover are still attached to the book spine. Thanks for all your opinions!
