However, I think it is not you seeking the information so much as the attitudinal component...subjecting every seller's threads to YOUR personal views just seems a bit rude for lack of a better term.
Thank you for my new word of the day
Attitudinal : relating to, based on, or expressive of personal attitudes or feelings

Just purchased a TOS from Dan and couldn't be happier, always a pleasure to deal with!
Thank you,

Unfortunately, everyone who has tried the 8500 has had a terrible experience.

First of all, didn't chunkybutt (shudder) pay the 50 bucks? That should get him off the list, right? And second, do you see a problem with adding a 48 hour grace period for the issue to be discussed? Everyone always agrees that it's best when these things are worked out, right?
I am glad to read this but I am confused because we already HAVE agreed on both a PM and a "reasonable" waiting period for reply to a PM. This is very old news but some folks are acting like it is all a new concept.
From the original accusation, the deal went off in February and it was presented to all that multiple attempts were made for contact, therefore the reasonable waiting period had expired long ago. I agree, this is not a new concept.
And to recall the original post...
Could we add Chunkybutt to the list. I have been holding a stack of books for him since february. I have made contact with him recently, sent a total and he has not responded. I am tired of chasing the guy for the money. I will notify him of this post and allow him to chime in as per the rules. The guy is really nice, I do like him. But leaving me with little to no responses for so long brings me to this.If he completes the sale, I will return and ask him to be removed.
I don't believe this last part has been resolved, yet, therefore no removal.
well I did complete the transaction, however Resurrection said in his PM to me that he would like to remove me from probation list if I stop slinging Mud. So I guess it is a case of, "You better be quiet and stop proving me wrong or I will make your life miserable" type of situation.
secondly I only fell under the criteria of the list (at the time you put me on it) because you believed him and did not hear my side.
granted I did owe him money for something I forgot I did.
But maybe I should have put him on the list for not totalling me up in a timely manner like I asked him to
just sayin
All this could have been avoided by you just saying "I'm sorry, I'm new and I forgot" I don't know Pat but from what I'm reading he would just like to move on.
You should just take your books and be happy to be removed from the probation list. It's really not that big of a deal unless you make it out to be one

I know they didn't have drivers for me. Mine will only scan if I go through paint. Give it a shot

Only received the two Dark Tower books and the feel of a slabbed book in my hands almost but not quite comes close to a raw book - so I think I may have the CGC bug
It's not a good bug to catch, the medical bills just keep on coming

I recently bought the HP8500 legal size printer scanner etc at Staples. So far my scans are blurry .... so I'm underwhelmed, but because I am a novice at scanning will continue to tinker, but right now I get a much sharper picture from my digital Kodak camera than I do my scanner.
I bought the scanner new on sale for less than 300 ... and it was the only Legal Size scanner they sold.
If anybody uses this is there a way to sharpen the scan? Maybe it's the field or depth issue mentioned earlier in this thread, but it maybe there are things I can do to get a better scan and I don't know what they are.
That was the first scanner I bought and unfortunately there is not a thing that can be done to help fix it. I took mine back right away although I loved everything else about it, the scanner was terrible and a deal breaker

I decided to start removing more of my books from slabs this weekend. I have been realizing more in more why should I keep them in plastic when I do not have any plans to sell them. It also gave me a chance to truly see/ inspect the defects for myself. So I decided to take a new group shot of the first 13. The #4, 5, and 12 were the ones freed from this picture. 99%+ of my collection is raw so its nice to have uniformity and I don't get distracted by the big number in the corner.
Wow
Awesome picture Brian!
What kind of #4 is that, pence?

I may have to change my name to Mr 8.0

As someone who has purchased two books recently from Dan, I can say that I was pleased with both transactions. I didn't ask if the books were cracked and resubmitted
because I wasn't purchasing their former grades, I was purchasing the books in their current condition with the grades that CGC gave them when Dan submitted them.
I looked at the scans he provided on both books and I was confident that both books fit my eye according to the grade and I would be happy once I received them.
They may have been former 1.8's for all I care. What's important to me is that I received exactly what I paid for and what was advertised. Both books were packaged
well and shipped fast, I couldn't ask for more
