  1. If you look at the grading scale, not every grade has a Surface or Edges description.  So I imagine that so long as you clear the minimum hurdle w/o subs, it doesn't come into play when grading a card without subs.  Meaning, someone isn't spending time splitting hairs on a Surface or Edges sub-grade if the centering and corners grades have already more or less dictated the grade.  Example, what's the difference between a 7 and 7.5 for surface?  I do see that taking added time.

I came across these 71 Topps from my teenage collection from so many moons ago.   They were in binders collecting dust in the preverbal attic.   Trying to decide if I should bite the bullet and get a PSA grade?   Should I?   BTW, no question about authenticity as I purchased them as a kid.

CSG graded my '71 Ryan a 5.5  - ID is 1005604003 if you want to look it up.

Fair grade, lined up with their grading standards.  Yours looks notably sharper but centering is further off.  Probably a candidate for sub grades.

The fact that the package was lost was absolutely a FedEx issue, not a CSG issue. Thats correct. But the fact that CSG burries the fact that they only insure FedEx packages for $100 is a CSG issue. If that was made more clear I absolutely wouldn't have selected FedEx for shipment.

First, sorry for your loss, that sucks.  But, the insurance information has never been buried and was clearly present on the old submission form.  You can more or less see it in this old submission video they posted. https://youtu.be/Wz2rG5Jo6YQ?t=278

how many cards? they have been sitting on my 20 card economy order since 4/9

6, but it was shipped with 2 cards sent Express (Jordan 2nd yr, Rice rookie), so speculation would be that they processed faster because the box was open and didn't want them kicking around.

Any update on how long it took for yours to move to shipped? Mine FINALLY moved to Quality Control today after being in Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging for almost 2 months

Shipped 8/10, Received 8/18.  Received was 5/28 for Economy.  Seeing that Economy is 120 days now, I definitely came in well under that.

I was in that status for 3 weeks. Just moved into "Grading/ Quality Control "

How long until your order moved from Quality Control to Shipped?

My order just moved from Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging to Grading/Quality Control which hopefully means the time consuming things are over and now it's just a final signoff.

  7. My Economy order has been in Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging for a couple of weeks now, so I emailed.  Rep let me know that the cards have been graded and are now waiting to be encapsulated.  They charge you at grading, but then you have to wait for them to get slabbed, photographed, and shipped.  You'd think that'd be the fastest stage but it seems to be the slowest.
