  1. I tried e-mailing CSG support but haven't received a response after sending an e-mail and a reminder e-mail a week apart.

I have a mechanical error in that I have an Acuna Bowman's Best RC Refractor, but it isn't labeled as a refractor.  The problem is that it has sub grades and I know that if I send it in to be fixed, the sub grades will be removed, despite being something that was already paid for.  What can be done here? Can someone from CSG please e-mail me?  I'd like this to be sorted out prior to my next submission.

    Yes.

Just think of it this way (although admittedly inexact and likely incorrect):

Old Green GM is new Black GM.

Old Green Pristine is absorbed into new Black GM and Perfect. Pristine no longer exists.

New Black Mint+, somewhat impossibly, has no corresponding Green grade.

What, more than likely, is happening (though CSG will never admit to this) is:

Green Perfect is truly 100% all around. As such, it clearly would qualify as new Black Perfect.

Some Green 10 Pristine (9.5 centering) would also qualify as Black Perfect, as would some Green 9.5 GM  (9 centering and 10*3). In addition, there's a possibility that some Green 9.0 Mint (8/8.5 centering due to reverse centering issues and 10*3) could qualify as Black 10 Perfect.

Most old Green 9.5 GM (excluding new Black 10 Perfect, as explained above) would now grade out at Black 10 GM. Some Green 9.5 GM (9.0 [not centering] and 9.5*3) would be the new Black 9.5 Mint+.

Additionally, some old Green 9.0 Mint would be Black 9.5 Mint+. These would likely be cards with 9.0*2 subs, if one of those was centering.

Beyond that, most cards would translate to the equivalent tier on the new scale.

The only change in scales is centering definitions, so there might be some "crack and sub" (CSG should be reasonable and not require cards with subs to be cracked out) opportunities for upgrades.

    Just my observations.

My Main problem is that 9 mint to 9.5 mint plus.  I think there should be a very clear "these are the subgrades that will translate to a 9.5".  I have a 10, 9.5, 9,9, which sounds to me like an obvious black 9.5, but I can't get anyone at CSG to confirm this.  No chance I'm sending it in with the chance of getting a black 9 back without subgrades (while also paying a full grading fee even though it's already slabbed with sub-grades).

CSG reps have never established a criteria for 9.5 Mint+ based upon 9 Mint subs. In fact, I think, to avoid this very issue, the CSG standard recommendation has been to "crack and sub" if you want to try for a better grade... as moronic as that is, functionally.

!!! That's wild! There are clearly some sub grades currently that show (and would be described by anyone seeing them) as Mint +.  Crazy that they wouldn't just say "this is the minimum for current subgrades to be crossed to 9.5 Mint +".  It should be covered under a reslab, but at the very least they should make it clear and allow people to resubmit without having to crack them out of cases.  Would be easier for them on grading and easier for customer not having to crack it out.  I'm somewhat at a loss for words on how silly it is to just ignore this.

With the ReHolder Service, any green label CSG card graded 9 or below, will be given the same grade in the new black label. Green label Gem Mint 9.5s will cross to Gem Mint 10s in the new black label.  Pristine 10s will be Gem Mint 10s if sent in to be re-holdered.

Ok, so in order for a card that is clearly a Mint + as already slabbed (say 10,9.5,9,9) you're making people resubmit this card for full grading?  I have to pay full grading price for my card that's already graded to be looked at (see the sub grades) and then slab as a 9.5 Mint Plus?  Assuming this is correct, despite common sense, can you please confirm what the current sub grades need to be in order to be crossed to a 9.5?  I have the exact sub grades I mentioned above.  I would easily send in for a reslab, but only considering sending in if I have to pay full grading fee and wait months.  I'm definitely not sending it in if there isn't a clear line drawn re: what subgrades will constitute the bump to 9.5.
