I’ve seen these for sale now and again over the years. There was a manufacturing problem and the arm holding the mace or whatever it is is frequently broken.

Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???

Passing the staples after eating books sounds unpleasant. You would think the proprietors would prefer that the books be bought before being eaten as well. -

Welcome to the boards and this wonderful thread! During my quick scroll through your gay-risque books, I thought the last one was called Andy Sex Will Do, at first glance! -

Why couldn't you just keep the lotion down there with you, didn't he have a spare? Did he think you could escape if you kept it?

Savage Sword of Conan = the ugly stepchild of comics?
mrwoogieman replied to mephistopheles's topic in Comic Magazines
If anything, Conan Saga is the red-headed stepchild, not Savage Sword. -
I would say not for those earlier issues, except maybe issue 9. The later newsies in lower grade, however, say beyond issue 60 and certainly the ones over issue 100 are sellable.

How much of a premium are we paying for newsstand editions?
mrwoogieman replied to paqart's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
As someone who buys more modern newsies than most, i have no problem admitting that there are people who are trying to generate interest in what would otherwise be worthless books by simply focusing on the fact that they are newsstand editions. If it were solely grass roots collectors driving the modern newsie market because of rarity or collectibility of the books, there would have to be a corresponding burgeoning market for early direct editions from the 70s for the same reasons. And yet, no one talks about premiums for directs from that era. And I think the reason for that is that the hype-sters don’t have access to those direct editions at friendly price points like they do for moderns. The classic hype what you have to sell.
