  1. Can someone please explain to me how eBay works in this case?

This was posted a few days ago showing all the thief's completed sales:

    http://www.ebay.com/csc/a.estates808/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_ipg=50&_since=15&_sop=13&_rdc=1

Here are the books he/she has sold in the last 15 days.

I printed those pages out and there were 30 listings of my books. BUT, when I went in this morning, just to check if more books were sold, there are only 5 listings! What does that mean? Thanks for any clarity on this!

  2. UPDATE:

The detective has subpoenas for eBay, Paypal, etc to get his information and thanks to another user, other relevant information from a purchase he made with this thief. Next step is to get a warrant to search his house (hopefully he's still here!)...

If anyone knows someone who may have bought books from him and still has his shipping details or better yet the packaging, then please contact me (I can give you the detective's contact info). I'd really appreciate it.

BUT please do not contact him via eBay directly -- the detective does not want him getting wind of the investigation or spooked in which case the chance of recovering my books goes down dramatically.

Thanks everyone for your help and concern!

  3. STOLEN books -- please help

Several boxes of CGC books were stolen from my home. I've filed a police report and am working with them on locating the thieves and the books, and we have a few leads.

However, I found a few of the books have already been sold on eBay! If anyone has had dealings with this person, or his previous eBay ID, I would appreciate it if you would contact Officer M. Collings at the Hawaii Police Department on (808) 935-3311 (general non-emergency #)  or on (808) 326-4646 (at the Kona Police Station). Please reference case # C17015638.

Here is the link to the feedback page which lists some of the books that were stolen:

  4. RMA/Joe is the best!

I used his pressing / prescreen service and overall the grades came back either as expected or better! There were some dings by CGC (as expected) but also some bonuses (upgrades). His communication throughout this process was top notch and I always received prompt and professional responses to my PMs!

I plan to use his service again for some Byrne X-Men books early next year.

  5. Regarding Qualitycomix, I received Sharon's email today and Brent's email on 11/5.

I didn't remember the purchase at all and replied that I am not interested in those books anymore. I agree he should have properly communicated with everyone who bought from his thread but I understand life gets in the way of collecting comics. So I'm not set on putting him on the PL as long as every sale has an amicable resolution for the buyer.

That said, I agree he should explain in future sales threads the reason he was added to the PL since it appears that this is not the first time this has happened. Just my 2c. Thanks, Mike

  6. To those with Paypal disputes opened against you: if it were me, I'd absolutely call Paypal and explain the situation, and have the dispute expunged from your account...if you can. They'll be able to see his shenanigans, but it's hard to say if they'll do anything. It's worth a try:

    1-888-221-1161

I called again today and actually got a very reasonable person on the phone this time.

I told him the situation and he advised me to send all the appropriate information to this e-mail address: complaint-response@paypal.com

By the way, the buyer closed the complaint against me about an hour ago.

Just got word that he closed the complaint against me as well -- looks like he got the message!

  7. gotta add my gecko157 dealings to this thread.

he opened 2 paypal disputes against me: 1 for not receiving the package (he eventually got it) and this one last night for pages not being OW/W per the CGC label:

I would like to return this book. The pages don't seem to be the advertised ow/w on the label. The edges of the pages seem to be a dark cream and almost brown in color. Please send me your return shipping address.

wtf? I just told him to send it back and I'll refund the $150 when I get the book back. he will then go on ignore and I'm done.

  8. I have a noob question I'm hoping someone can help me with... is it bad form to try to negotiate with a dealer after he's given you his best price?

For example, I've emailed a dealer about a few pieces I'm interested in -- they add up to about $2000. I ask him what his best price is for the lot and he comes back with $1775 (about 10-11% off). Is that it or is that price still open to negotiation? I do want these pieces and so I don't want to insult him and/or drive him away but I also want to get the best price.

    Any guidance would be appreciated!
