  1. Or collectors that haven't picked up a "new" comic in fifteen years. :preach:

Not only that, I'm mainly DC but Daredevil is a favorite. I didn't/don't know the Jessica Jones character at all.

Every time I came across "ALIAS" I saw an artsy cover with an undefinable female face, that "MAX Explicit Content" logo and assumed it was a mature-readers adaption of...

    alias.jpg

I'd read a MAX title before and thought it was horrible (Punisher, I think). So I had no interest. And I don't remember any "heat" surrounding the title until the Netflix announcement. Now I'm really looking forward to the show, but yeah, I have no clue.

Edit: In my defense I point to the ALIAS logos. Somewhat similar, with TV it's the highlighted "S", Jessica Jones it's the odball "A". So I assumed Marvel had bought the rights and resurrected the TV storyline for mature-only. A dead-wrong-but-reasonable-assumpton (so I doubt I was the only one). :shy:

Ha...I thought the same thing. I have never read an Alias before, but i am looking forward to the show based on the trailer.

  2. Decorated my office walls using good ole IKEA frames. Just added the Jawa cover to complete my Star Wars Action Figure Variant 12 back display. Also have a GOT sketch by Greg LaRocque and a Dr Who Amy Pond Sketch by Brad Hudson.

Got a link for these frames? I have searched the website and guess I missed them.

    Thanks for any help.

  3. And the OP has no issues threadkrapping in my WTB thread anyway. Looks good on him.

Oh, ok. Now it makes sense. It's not like you to threadkrap all willy nilly. This was revenge. At least the confusion is gone.

For the record I agree he acted like in crapping on your wtb.

    And now it's revenge. :eyeroll:

You really missed the boat not opening that fortune teller's booth at the carnival.

I still am being logical. Not liking the analysis doesn't equate to being illogical. You laughed at his post. You then came in here to justify mocking someone asking a high price. Then you say he deserves the threadkrap (" it looks good on him ") for him doing the same to your earlier wtb post. The same wtb post where you two have it out with each other.

You basically provided motive and intent as to that it was threadkrap and why you were doing it.

If you weren't laughing at his asking price then logical minds would wonder why you'd feel the need to come here justifying a price based threadkrap in that thread.

Do you actually deny you were intentionally messing with him in his sales thread or are you trying to parse out why you were messing with him in his sales thread?

Own it man. Denying it, after everything posted subsequent, is worse than the original threadkrap had it been borne proudly.

I own everything I do. Your "logical conclusions" are assumptions and are incorrect but don't let the truth stop you. (thumbs u

    Put the shovel down.

  4. What do you hope to learn from this?

    This.

Why do you care if he's lying about owning some books? Unless he's trying to sell them, obviously.

    + a bajillion. Who cares?

I get it, you don't care unless money gets involved.

If he doesn't want to respond and no one cares I won't push it further here.

I just thought some clarity would be good before deals do start to happen.

It does reflect on a person if they are caught bragging about things they haven't done or don't own, that is one thing yes, but it is very definitely different if money is involved.

I understand you are trying to be proactive, but my fear is that this will amount to gossip and hearsay, and I'm not sure the person in question is really obligated to submit to questioning here. (shrug)

No one is obligated to do anything.

His choice whether or not he wants to clear it up and this is a better place than a new thread or an existing one. If this is the wrong thread, I can take it somewhere else. Watercooler or Comics General maybe?

He has already chosen to ignore a PM, which is a red flag to me.

But you are right, he doesn't have to do anything.

Then put him on your personal list and be done with it. (thumbs u

  5. Tough crowd here.

Not sure what people were expecting, but AMC producers were clear from the start this is a companion series to TWD and not a spinoff (also in part due to the ongoing legal battles they have with show creator Frank Darabont), and that things were purposely going to be set at a different pace. As such, I went into it taking it at face value and thought it did a good job both with the opening and the closing sequences, then sprinkling in moments of dread throughout - the glimpse of a strange figure in the park, the bent over principal in his office in an increasingly-empty high school, the sequence on the highway, etc.

Character reactions to situations were largely spot-on, what with their inherent disbelief in what they were seeing and incomprehension about the attacks being captured on camera... yet a very rapid ramping-up of societal unease and mounting panic as the videos are shared at a clip you would expect in the real world. That the episode is largely shot from Nick's point of view was a neat device, too, in that as the viewer you know what he experienced off the top was real, yet for his family and even his own fragile sanity, there is incredible doubt about what is happening vs. what is simply a product of his drug addiction.

Overall a pretty big thumbs-up for me. Looking forward to the remaining five episodes of season 1 and the full-blown 13 episode order of season 2.

    +1, I liked it.

The only thing that I wished they would have done is explained why Nick was wearing that goofy white shirt...

    Hi Sid :hi:

Glad you are back on the boards :D

    I think that was Gloria's coverall/shirt.

I missed the Clooneythons....only reason I am back. :insane:

  8. I have a general question and not sure which forum would be best so I will ask it here.

Are kudos threads really that important if you are typically only a buyer and not a seller? Just wondering if I should bother with making one or not.

I've been away from the boards for a couple years (I believe the kudos threads started up shortly after I initially joined) and just curious as I more than likely will never sell a book here. I do buy a decent amount of smaller value books (past and beginning again) on here as I do not have a local shop within 100 miles of me.

    Thanks for any input.

    Sid

  9. I don't even like Batgirl, but I did go to the comic store and pick up an issue of #13.

Does this mean I can put it on Ebay for $100?

    :insane:

Seriously though, the local store had two issues of Batgirl 13 and about 7 issues of Batman.

While I was standing there, a comic book store about 90 miles away called the shop and asked for all the local shop's Batgirl 13's.

What is driving Batgirl 13? (I don't keep up with moderns that much, so please excuse my ignorance).

  10. Very smooth transaction. (thumbs u

Bomb proof packing and quick delivery. (thumbs u

Books graded as stated. (thumbs u

All and all, a great boardie to deal with and look forward to do it again in the future.

  11. think I asked this in the wrong thread~

so I have to ask.... if these guys that are banned come back under another ID trying to buy and sell...multiple times.... doesn't that put them in the attempt to decieve catagory and mark them for HOS?... because the HAHAHA you caught me again really doesn't work for me~

If you can delete the other post, it is appreciated as you are right. That thread is meant just for the probation list to be maintained.

But it is a very good question to ask. If someone keeps creating new usernames rather than resolving the original problem, it doesn't sound like they have much remorse. Just trying to find a way around the situation.

What does everyone else recommend? Should this lead to a HoS recommendation?

I know I'm just a noob, but I agree with Ashsaytr. He is obviously attempting to deceive.

Good detective work by the way. :applause:
