I appreciate all the advice being offered. I have reported this to my bank and they will be investigating the dispute. However they said it could take as long as months. I’ll share the outcome. I will now be filing a report with the local police.

I was asked to provide screen shots of my emails with MBC. Here they are. I have tried to remove any personal information. All I wanted was a signed Will Jack slab.

I am a simple comic collector and I have had the same problem with Mutant Beaver Comics. On July 8, 2024 I asked about the status of a signed slab I ordered and paid for back in August 2023. I was told the order could not be filled and they would issue a full refund via PayPal at the end of July. On August 1 I sent them an email asking about the status of the refund. They responded immediately and told me refunds would begin on August 6. I sent another email on August 13 asking for an update. Again Mutant Beaver Comics responded immediately stating all refunds would be completed by the end of August. I waited and then sent a follow up email on September 9 inquiring about the status of the refund. Again they responded immediately but told me refunds were coming but it was according to their timelines. No other information regarding the refund was offered. Obviously I do not expect to receive the refund but I will not sit idle. My next steps are to contact The Canadian Competition Bureau, the Prince Edward Island Consumer Affairs Office, the Better Business Bureau and the Canadian Anti Fraud Centre which all have processes to receive and review these types of complaints. I will also likely report this to the Charlottetown police as a theft/fraud complaint as this is where the business is located (25 Hunter Lane to be exact). Again I am not expecting a refund but it is the principal of the matter and perhaps steps may be taken to warn others about how Mutant Beaver Comics conducts business and prevent other thefts.
