Some results from my first MCS auction which ended last night.

Does it make sense that 2 of my 3 books arrived almost a week ago, and the one book I submitted for SS still hasn't shown up?
2 books were on one ticket as blue labels
1 book was on its own as a SS. It's still not shown up.

3 Modern Fast Track submitted on 4/8........received today.

Walking Dead #108 is commanding a pretty penny for being a month old book.
-
All of it can simply be summed up as....
"nobody knows what it will do in the future"
-
Going to agree. I think in 5-10 years, a 9.8 is going to be worth double what it is now.
-
And I suppose this means one would just have to have both black and white labels of #1, right?
However, I am pretty certain CGC does not recognize these as different.
-
One last thing, it is our understanding that the initial print run of The Walking Dead #1 had the colors for the "MATURE READERS" warning printed in the wrong sequence so that the black lettering was printed on top of the white, which disappeared. This was noticed and corrected so the black lettering on subsequent issues adds some shadow/depth to the white letters. Sources indicate that there are around 4,000 issues with the black lettering with the rest white, hence the white is rarer (although more white variants seem to come to market).
The black lettered issues were printed first hence could be viewed as the first print with the white as the second print; the black lettered variant could also be viewed as an error variant of sorts. All the ink is there on both issues and CGC don't differentiate between the two variants (they probably didn't spot the difference until many were graded i.e. too late) so this is probably just a storm in a teacup.

Yes, 9.8. Was it 20% of the run that were black? I don't remember. Just pulling the number from another post I read.
I assumed me meant 9.8s but he didn't specify.
Kirkman has stated that there is more black than whites (doesn't that sound bad). However, eBay sales would lead one to believe opposite.

WAYYYYY more.

I don't want to bump an old thread (but I am going too), but these WD1 9.8s consistently seem to bring right around 2k, and in some cases more. One on eBay recently sold for a BIN of $2749
How do you see who popped the BIN?
I don't think it shows you....
As for the other keys, and I am just grabbing the first few I see....
#19 - 9.8 $615
#19 - 9.8 $486
#27 - 9.8 $343
#27 - 9.8 $325

Recently charged a $5.00 handling fee for dropping off a book in person. After picking
up the book ask for grader notes and told a $10.00 fee applied. This company is
only concerned about money.
CGC charges $10 for graders notes? Really?
Yup
$5 for Economy, Value and Modern books.
Still ridiculous.

Every book I found had a ding on the spine about 1/3 the way down as well....it's going to be tough to find this in 9.8 me thinks.
-
Where do you check your status? And how do you check your status? I never saw anything on the forms about this.
-
When I was at Planet Comicon, I did not see very many WD books around. I saw a few weekly's, but that was it.
-
Just joined this club on Saturday with a CGC 3.0. Wanted a 5.0-ish but the con only had a graded 3.0, and the raw copies were being asking WAY to much money for.
-
My LCS didn't get any of the variants......boo.

As far as I can tell, my black cover is pretty dang mint!!!!
