  1. Forgot to post these here when I bought them. I'd like to thank all my fellow boarders that are helping me build my ASM #1-100 (thumbs u
  2. Bought some early Avengers from Sam this week. Great communication, very friendly. Fast shipment, got them the same week I bought them, and they got here safely and securely. Highly recommend him as a seller. I'd buy from him again, and in fact I am . Thanks, Sam
  3. I've been working on this Capt. America on my breaks. I thought it might be a good idea to take a pic with my cell phone before I either screw it up or grow tired of it. I think I might need to fix the shield. Too many stripes, I think. I might change his facial expression too. If I finish it, I'll scan it and clean up some of the pencil marks [on photoshop] that wouldn't completely erase. Hope you guys like. I've been feeling pretty inspired lately, thanks in large part to you all
  4. I like the layout. Intriguing. No idea who the character is though. It looks like Orko. I think your right..What cartoon was he on? He-Man, wasn't it? Great color BTW. Something I never quite got the hang of, except in my oil paintings.
  5. I should be done with Cap in a couple days. I'm thinking of just keeping it in the pre-ink stage. I always seem to lose interest when I try to finalize the pencils.
  6. Now I'm afraid to I know they're somewhere around here. I keep running across them every few years. One character was "Channel" who harnessed energy from the planet. The other was "Judgement" (the name has since been taken, if I'm not mistaken). A tragic-hero in the tradition of The Punisher and Spawn and The Crow. He arrives moments too late to save his wife from horrible death. He is able to kill the man responsible at the scene, but curses the universe for for the fact that he was just moments away from saving her life. He is then damned to spontaniously transport to the scene of the worst crimes against the innocent moments too late, but in time to take revenge on the guilty. Very 90's
  7. Your grasp of graphite pencils is great. I'm still trying to figure out the right combo's
  8. OKAY, now I KNOW you're just being nice to me Those are SUPERB!!
  9. Fantastic technique! I take too long with my work. Yours looks far more fluid, and I mean that in a very good way
  10. You see, I like your more than I like my own. Maybe that's just the way people that draw are
  11. I know I have some "proto-type" characters somewhere, just can't find them. I'm SURE I didn't toss them
  12. The early 90's was a bad time in my life. But I never really stopped. As has often been the case, I lose motivation a lot. Now my hands are arthritic so pencil is far more friendly to my fingers. Snooze ya lose I guess. I'm working on a Captain America right now that I'm quite happy with. Hopefully I'll be done this week. Thanks Oakman
  13. Thanks to BillC It's a low grade BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
  14. Oh man, I forgot I even had this!! I found it between some pages of an old Comics Price Guide I had in a box in our closet. It's taken from the 1st issue (I think) of Death's Head, but I never had that comic so I must have seen it in a magazine somewhere in 1991. I worked with pen and ink a lot back then, something I strayed away from. It actually makes me want to try that medium again. Hope you like it
  15. Have you reported it to the police, Mike? Nope. i think it would be a wise move to do so I agree, good sir. If for nothing else the results could lead to a far better discussion than the one this has become. I know next to nothing about this Harold character, but I imagine a visit from the law would leave him crying with a big wet stain forming in his pantaloons.
  16. I almost did just that, but thought twice about it... a hundred times
  17. Why is there an assumed correlation between spending a few bucks, or the extent to which someone participates in the hobby, and sanity? I could pay $500 and submit 100 books a year to CGC; how exactly does that ensure that I won't act like a d-bag to other people in this community?
  18. The following opinion is intended with ALL DUE RESPECT. I'd be willing to pay around $20 per year, but not much more than that. I'm not too sure about excluding folks that do not submit to CGC, though. Access to these boards can be the deciding factor for some that aren't sure they want their pride and joys slabbed. Some people might be quite unhappy to pay hundreds of $$$ to join a forum only to pay perhaps hundreds of $$$ more to get their books slabbed, and then have to wait perhaps months for their books to even be viewed. I, myself, understand that CGC is behind, and I understand the convention season is the main reason why, which is why I'm being [wryly] patient even though I'll unlikely attend any conventions anytime soon. But there would undoubtedly be some impatient people that would not tolerate waiting 3 months after paying for a 40 day turnaround [even with the disclaimer] because of conventions. These people may be even more offended that they would have to pay yet even more money in order receive quicker service, just to learn even that is not a guarentee of a timely turnaround [from what I've read from some members]. This may discourage them from using CGC's services again, which would certainly be within their right. Then they would be ticked off at the fact that they have paid hundreds of $$$ for a membership to a message board they will never use again. I hope this post was relavent in some way.
  19. Post pics. I won't be going
  20. Personally I think we have an actor/comedian here. Never saw a tear and never saw her eyes redden. but funny as hell. If it's legit... to her. or to any guy that dates her
  21. Agreed. And he's probably laughing his @$$ off reading this
