    I collect comics I want, and there a many comics on my want list. Since I can't get them all at once, I naturally have to prioritize what I get and when. If speculation starts driving the prices on one of those "back burner" book, I'll buy it before it reaches ridiculous levels I'm unwilling to acknowledge.

    No, I'd only slab my books if I planned to sell them. I was trying to establish if I was properly valuing it for insurance records. It is kinda risky, but since I collect rather than build stock, I'm okay with it. The joy I feel in its growth is due to the fact that I don't have to pay today's asking prices for a book I want

    7.0-7.5 is what I've been calling it. Thanks, people Other bidders seemed to shy away from this one (Feb, last year), and the seller seemed to feel the same way, but honored the sale all the same.

    I find it easier on the eyes. My eye's anyway. Glad they chose white for the 1st appearance in ASM #252.

    You're all wrong. The artwork is the first appearance the moment someone other than the artist sees it j/k If a claim can be made that the official 1st appearance of a character can take place outside of a comic book story, then where can those claims end?

    I keep stressing to Mike Royer, as he prepares for upcoming conventions, that anything Eternals and Fourth World (and even Machine Man) he can get into his Pin-Up Portfolios will be sure to sell.

    I've been working on rebuilding my JIM/Thor collection since I sold off much of what I had The good news is I'm in a better position now to replace them with better copies. The bad news; with moderate home repairs and a car purchase, I have to halt any more purchases for now. If I don't stop, my wife may suggest I sell some comics. These aren't all recent, but many are.
