Curious as to thoughts on reasons and value for encased low grade books. I was looking at the Tec 33 on the "married" thread and was curious as to keeping it graded. Often I see a NG,0.5 or 1.0 that's Green or Purple label and wonder the purposes of keeping it encased. For a $100,000 book sure, but a typical $1000 semikey why keep it encased? Also, does the encased graded book get any premium at all vs a deslabbed book with the label. I do see the attraction of the single page uber key getting graded - you get the Label that says "Action Comics 1" on it.

Batwoman 3 - Fine (R) for $1950 1st Catwoman in Costume, 1st Puppet Master Restored: Top edge front cover likely trimmed. If you run your finger across any of the 6 edges, all but the top front feel "soft" as you would expect on a mid grade book. Top edge feels a bit too sharp. Color touch throughout front cover. All those small dots are not scanner issues, but color touch in the black, red and blue areas. You can see the non c.t. in Robins cape and legs. Staples look to be original. Oxidation on the spine but clean on the interior. Tried to scan but didn't pick up the staple tines Pages are Off White. No Tape No pieces replaced or missing No seals No married pages.
