I dig the little groo statue too, what is that about?
And is that artist's edition #96-99 of Epic? I think that's what google is telling me which seems like such a weird chunk to reprint
Thank-you Bronty -
The little statue is just from that PVC line via Dark Horse a few years back. You had to buy the whole set of characters.
Yeah it is those issues from Epic. It would not have been my first choice to put in such cool giant, limited of 250 book. That is for sure.
But I wanted the book (that edition at least) because it was the first of its kind by Serg and all the covers and title spreads that are in the end of the book as a bonus. About 15 total, so kinda cool.
Even more rare than the San Diego edition is the IDW blue variant with an art cover....only 5 out there:

awww... thx.
One of the things I love about this book / oa is that its the first appearance of my favorite supporting characters, Arba and Dakarba.
Nice...is Sergio still selling the full original art Epic books in the 12-15g range?

Anyone got the Groo 1 in 50 random Sketch Cards from the Wildstorm trading cards?

The MAD IPad app is out now. Print subscribers can get the current issues free.
The best part of the app is pinching the Al Jaffe "Fold-Ins" at the end of each issue. No more creasing of the back covers on the print issues.

4 comic shops and none got Dawn of the Jedi #0 2nd prints in my area. Did anybody's shop get allocated on these?

I'm really interested in Futurama #1 San Diego Variant mainly because it's already up to $76 and 7 bids with four days to go but also because there is no prior sales data to determine if this is the average price.
Auction claims they are limited to 2,000 copies so surely a few more have surfaced since this one.
There used to be alot of them last year as buy it nows. I got my copy for $20 a couple years ago.

My LCS had about 12 of these, and I only found the three variants.
I'm a comic book, mint condition, and first issue.
I read the third one says "It's my first tissue!"

So does that make the Barnes & Noble the bookstore versions? I thought they had Diamond accounts like the direct market.
*sigh* Goosechase time.

yeah, there's a 1a, 1b, 1c, mine only had 1a. They may just have the same print run and one not rare than the others.
Make that 5 variants now:

That's cool. The last time I remember Bongo doing a variant was for Futurama #1 SDCC back in 2000. At least for the U.S. versions.

watch Ralph Wiggum #1 (on shot). 3 covers, only difference between the 3 is what he says in the word bubble.
Is that confirmed that there are 3? I know the cover solicits showed different sayings but the ones in ebay say "I'm a mint conditioner"...

This is interesting. When the first teaser for Despicable Me came out, they briefly spelled their main character called as "Groo" before they changed it to "Gru" when the movie came out. That scene might be some sort of an easter egg to a Groo reference....although Groo has a jelly bean shaped nose and 2 thin "KillBill" looking swords with an orange tunic. And a VHS tape strapped on his chest.
