  1. They do look great. I'm slightly second guessing myself having gone for the paperback rather than the MMM on The Big Sleep, but it's hard to regret the choice I made. I wonder how the book situation will look at Emerald City next week...
  2. I always consider shipping as part of the cost, and I was figuring around 20-25 dollars would be needed for that issue. Who knew there were so many Munsters fans? Not sure why people are so optimistic on the #3 pricing, still need to find that one.
  3. Today's book... and unlike most of my posts, which are fairly generic issues, this one is at least a semi-key issue:
  4. It looks like some of the other Moore art I've seen. I've shown this page earlier in the thread, but reposting so you can compare:
  5. And from the Bay, I finally found a copy that wasn't over-priced in my estimation:
  6. Normally, on Warrens, I just add them to my cart at MCS and wait until I make my next order from them in a couple weeks. But when these three showed up I figured there was roughly a snowball's chance in hell of them lasting a week at the prices they were asking, so I ordered roughly as fast as I could get them into my cart:
  7. In today. My thanks to @LDarkseid1 for encouraging to jump my bid slightly at the last minute... it made the difference.
  8. Looking forward to round two, and my congratulations to everybody who won stuff here... even the people who beat me to items I wanted!
  9. Several of these also have stories by Harlan Ellison that have never been reprinted, if that interests anybody besides me. (Also why I'm not grabbing the lot, I have most of them already.)
  10. I need to get myself a good list of what I still need, I've only got between 1/3 and 1/2 of the Frazetta paperback covers that I'm aware of. But when I go to the store I never remember exactly which Burroughs I have and don't have.
  11. Actually, my point was the conclusion of both stories was "Look, It's Uncle Creepy!" I didn't see any allegory at all, I saw a weird curio store that Uncle Creepy made his home at the back of, through the last door. Which of course explains the title, and I think to some degree you need to have that "aha" about what the title means to make the ending make sense. Sorry for the delayed response, I wanted to re-read the story to make sure I didn't horribly misread it. I don't think I did, but it's not a spectacular layout on the last page to sell the twist... Creepy's comment on the last panel is obviously said a bit later, but they saw almost that exact tableau when they opened the last door.
  12. Just in general, what's the tell on the 2014 reprint?
  13. I believe you mean the classic cover from this book was later used on Vampirella 89, not the other way around. But that’s nitpicking
  14. As far as I know Forry is often credited with creating the term Sci-Fi... Although it's often said by the sort of fan who hates the term, and prefers SF instead. That sort of fan is often not a fan of Forry's style of fandom.
  15. I wish I had more pedigree Strange Adventures... Although I should be glad I've got one, at least. John G. Fantucchio copy:
  16. It looks to me like it might be miscut, with the top and bottom edges not perpendicular to the sides. That doesn't mean it isn't trimmed as well, that right edge looks awfully weird in a couple of the shots.
  17. At least your copy still has the centerfold! Nice looking copy, love the T&P stamp.
  18. I think I've posted one of these before, but I don't care... If people are going to sell the 1:15 FOC variants at around cover price, I'm going to grab them. At least when it's Kevin Nowlan doing the art, he does a spectacular Vampi in my opinion:
  19. The Billy Bounce is just based on the comic, but was listed in Overstreet last time I checked:
