  1. Yeah I think 25 was the chest glowy cover. I left the series shortly after issue #19 as the quality started slipping in my honest opinion.
  2. Time to submit my Harbinger??!!?? Not at all. VH1 books are at the bottom cycle in their valuations, pretty much all across-the-board. There was an overwhelming sentiment the relaunch would increase demand and value for the originals, the opposite happened. The peak for most books was about 10 years or so ago when everyone started to accumulate them again. I posted some auction results in an older thread from back then, but those were the good old days when you could flip a raw Chaos Effect Omega Gold for $50 - $80 as fast as you could list them. The good old days.
  3. Eric Powell has said it is not Goon, but an early prototype in interviews. It's definitely a worthwhile pickup for Goon fans, with a Franky "prototype" in the story as well. Thanks for setting me straight! (thumbs u
  4. Why are you surprised at that Harbinger price? It's very status-quo... Yep Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8s have been selling steady in the $350-$425 range for at least the last year. I suppose because I haven't been paying attention until just now.
  5. I thought it was determined some time ago that Best Cellars was NOT the Goon prototype. But if what you are saying is true then this would be the Goon's second appearance: Might not be his 1st app. Just what one guy is saying about his auction that caught the Lyria Algorith's attention for comics trending up.
  6. Two of the 5 titles you listed are wrong It's Marvel PREVIEW #2 and Astonishing Tales #29
  7. I posted these in the Modern Age thread but they are really Copper Age books so maybe they should go here. I dunno. But interesting trends here. Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8 @ $405 & 21 bids. New Mutants #87 CGC 9.8 @ $170 & 12 bids. Deadpool #1 (1997) CGC 9.8 @ $150 & 3 bids. Daredevil #158 CGC 9.6 @ $180 & 17 bids.
  8. Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8 @ $405 & 21 bids. New Mutants #87 CGC 9.8 @ $170 & 12 bids. Deadpool #1 (1997) CGC 9.8 @ $150 & 3 bids.
  9. I see a ton of Y: The Last Mane #1 books hitting eBay this week and getting bid up pretty fast. It's a solid $50+ book and it seems like everyone is either selling on or trying to buy one. It's crazy. Gotham Girls #3 with Harley Quinn is hot because everyone loves Harley! @ $21 & 6 bids. If you haven't been noticing than it's time to wake up and check this out -Harbinger #1 @ $16 & 3 bids. Old school Valiant is cool! Amazing Spider-Man #700 has legs. Apparently Octo Pete is the best thing to happen to the title since forever. $16 & 11 bids. Best Cellars #1 is getting some traction as the original poster claims it's an early Goon Prototype. @ $15 & 4 bids.
  10. Ms. Marvel #1 VF/NM @ $21 & 26 bids. Marvel Premiere #2 @ $112 & 22 bids. Amazing Spider-Man #90 vg/fine @ $22 & 20 bids. Tales to Astonish #29 vf @ $69 & 19 bids. Star Wars #1 vg @ $10 & 10 bids.
  11. There's a definite demand for 9.6/9.8 certified copies. Without looking at GPA, 9.8s are going for about $130 and 9.6's $50. Raw copies, especially sub 9.6, are everywhere and not worth the cost of shipping. But why are the 9.6's and 9.8's worth so much? Based on the likely high print run, lack of popularity of the character (as far as I know), and lack of movie/TV prospects, I would expect a Darkhawk 1 CGC 9.8 to go for $30 to $50 max. I bought the books because I couldn't pass up the $0.50 price tag and nostalgia. I think some are buying high-grade copies either out of nostalgia or speculation he may pay a role in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. He may fit into a cosmic movie story line like he did in the comics a few years ago.

  13. I would imagine that the archer skill would transfer over to guns and knifes and such.
  14. I bought one for $22. Just love the green. I believe you are thinking of Ghosted.
  15. Some Cool Darkhawk Covers. And there also appears to be a 2nd print for issue #5? Is that right?
  16. Should have invited me. Rodey: Who is your favorite NW? Me: Nova, but Speedball is a close second. Rodey: Wow, no love for Speedball? Me: Speedball rocks! But doesn't have a cool helmet. Rodey: So helmets make for better characters? Me: Yup. Especially when you can call them "bucket head". Rodey: Totally agree! You rock, Whetteon! Me: You double-rock, Rodey! Rodey: No, the New Warriors Rock! Me: New Warriors for president!!
  17. I value #4 but probably more because it was a wall book a few months after it came out and we kids all had sauce size eyeball when seeing it. (thumbs u The Punisher/Darkhawk cover is pretty cool too.
