@Bomber-Bob It just takes some time, and probably the forum layout now works better on desktop computers and smartphones, or laptops with larges screen as it’s space consuming, but about your questions:
My posts: Go to your menu on the top right, select "Profile" and then choose "See my activity" at the bottom right of your profile header box, and then "Topics" ot "Posts" or whatever you like to see from the column on the left.
You can also mouse hover on the "Activity" menu and the popup shows various options (additional ones under the "My Activity Streams" submenu):
My messages: Click on the envelope icon on the top bar, it gives you a preview list of the last ones – select "Go to inbox" to see them all and filter them. You can see whether the PMs have been read (either by you or the other part) by using the "Filter by" popup menu. You have the following options:
