  1. And, the coolest part of the Crippen collection, the Crippen Code:
  2. My pleasure Congrats on finishing a very difficult run
  3. That gives me an idea for a new thread: "what's the least you've ever paid for a pedigree?"
  4. If you got this copy at the Good price, I hate you. Nice set of books for those prices. Me, too It's been on my list for a while. Nice "good"
  5. Just finished this run. Glad it's short, 'cause they're not too easy to find.
  6. Congrats I just picked up 3 Church books one of which was $100 Of course, it was a VG+... It's interesting seeing all the lower grade Church books in the Heritage auctions after years of only seeing the 9.0 and up representatives
  7. Sharp! Definitely very nice examples from the collection! Did you upgrade or were you filling in gaps? Both of those are upgrades (the #21 I upgraded from the Diamond Run copy ). I'm not really trying to put together a HG Archie collection, but I do want a few examples of each pedigree...
  8. It's a bit hard for me to tell due to the size of the characters, but I think it's by Bob White. Most of the Archie artists from this time period did (or had done) more "realistic" work in the comics as well, so I think they tended to use that type of style a little more when illustrating the "serious" Archie stories.
  9. Just arrived! My first Crippen books
  10. He found me a great book at Chicago 2005 too! I think he deserves re-kudos for that. Thanks 143ksk! Marc You're both very welcome. When your goal is to see every pre 1970 book in the place, you find a lotta stuff
  11. Here's my Timely/Atlas stuff I got in Chicago. Doesn't quite have the same impact as the Marvel Mysteries though...
  12. I'm sure Paul would be happy to sell you one (or more ) LINK
  13. I don't know why, but it seems to be much harder to find in HG than Archie's Pals n Gals #1 which is also a giant and came out at the same time. There are 3 Pals n Gals #1 in 9.0 or better in the CGC Census and no Christmas Stocking #1s better than 5.5. I'm very glad to have it to upgrade my 2.0 copy
  14. Very nice I'm sure you're going to make several people very jealous with the Marvel Mystery 9
  15. And my new Toon Tumblers courtesy of Silverandbronze. Thanks, Paul
