  1. Don't you think some of the other Marvel characters could just pop in? (shrug)

MAOS's direction and writing is finally coming alive, but the single biggest disappointment for me continues to be the show's disregard for a lot of Marvel's costumed characters. Look at how DC is hitting it out of the park and building tremendous fan following with Flash/Arrow and how a lot of good characters are being introduced or re-introduced there (e.g., Deathstroke, Speedy, Black Canary, Ra's al Ghul, Atom, Reverse Flash, etc.). I think the closest MAOS has come to getting a "name" character in there is Deathlok? And even that portrayal was kinda lame.

You have to remember, DC is playing catch-up with their universe, while Marvel has been at it since Iron Man. I think that DC will burnout after a while from introducing so many characters so quickly. It's going to be how Smallville was for a long time. All "power", no real story/development.

  2. It was hyped that we'd be angry and upset. There was nothing special here. I liked last week's episode a lot more.

Absolutely nothing important happened in this episode. A lot of will s/he-won't s/he moments, but nothing significant. The only good thing about the episode was Morgan. But what would've made the episode even better is if Rick had smiled like Groot at the end. lol

  3. They will be selling them on May 2nd at $25 for the set or $10 color & $20 b&w. Also, heard that they may be limiting them to 5 sets per person. I'll double check the next time I go in. They really do look nice in person!

Also, Siya Oum and Robbie Rodriguez will be present signing copies. WooHoo!!

My friend ended up going today and he said they told the limit would be 1 set per person. But I guess it can or cannot change depending on demand & since still a ways go

I am said friend, and went to the Culver City location earlier today. They told me that they think it will be limited to 1 set per person, but weren't sure. Hopefully they were wrong. Which location do you go to Praxis?

Also, they will be cheapest at the con (obviously). They will greatly mark-up what they don't sell after it's over.

  4. At least Flash has villains. Who was the chick with the razor blades on her fingers supposed to be? You could fill a whole season of SHIELD with Serpent Society members, and no one would care if you punked them, but noooo... tech weirdo and generic mafia thug, it is! Have fun with that!

flash is lame, as are its villians, its -script is obvious, its rife with bad acting, sorry that its a teen drama yawn-fest. There are lots of shows like that on tv, why not another with poor cgi and super powers lol

But please, continue trashing Shield in its own thread, as if your opinion has any bearing on the show.

  5. Is anyone here a member of the Xbox One Preview Program that received a beta code invite to the Smite Alpha? I'm a member but didn't make the cut, and would love to be in the beta. You have to be a Level 9 member, and I'm only a level 7. :sorry:

Never mind, I just got a code from a friend who isn't interested in the game.

  6. Why isn't The New Avengers #31 heating up? This issue revealed that

Dr. Doom is Rabum Alal (the Great Destroyer), and is the reason why the Marvel Universe is ending in May. Plus, Dr. Doom looks completely kick butt, and is the leader of the Black Swans... And it needs to answer how he is the catalyst of this event that started in Issue #1, when he just disappeared two issues ago...

  7. I did like some things about AC, I did watch every episode, but dudes singing it's praises and bashing AoS, in it's own thread, gets old.

I really don't get the love for AC. It was something to watch week in and week out, but it wasn't anything extraordinary. I don't think AC raised a bar or anything of the sort at all. The majority of the episodes were pretty obvious. The only real good episode was the one with the Commandos, but even that one just dragged on a bit. The "Black Widow School" was cool, and Dottie is a bombshell, so I hope there's more of her next season.

This episode of MAOS was really good. I liked the whole Asgardian/Kree feud throughout, and having Jaimie Alexander on the screen never hurts. This episode will have huge implications for the MCU as a whole, so I'm really excited to see what's in store.

  8. Miles won't be in the movies, at least not just yet. They are looking into having PP be in high school again, and have already started looking. Front runner is Logan Lerman from "Fury" and "Percy Jackson". Miles basically has no interaction with the 616 Avengers, wasn't part of the Civil War storyline, and the studios will keep it that way. I'm Hispanic, all for diversity, but I think it would be a stupid idea to not have Spidey be PP.

  9. I hope the rumor is indeed a real idea. I think SyFy is doing a great job with its programming so far, and are doing an excellent job of producing "12 Monkeys". It's one of my favorite shows at the moment. So Constantine being a bit darker and deeply working the stories closer to the comics would work out perfectly on SyFy, as they aren't too concerned with cussing and gratuitous nudity (see "Dominion" for VERY GOOD reference to that).

  10. Good News For AGENT CARTER Fans

    -------------------

While AGENT CARTER isn't renewed yet, her showrunners, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, have signed a pod deal* with ABC Studios. Fazekas and Butters currently have two shows at ABC. This could be a good sign for CARTER, since a studio wouldn't sign a development deal with showrunners and then kill all their projects.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, better known to CBM readers as the showrunners behind AGENT CARTER, have signed a pod deal with ABC Studios. Variety reports that under the two-year deal, they will bring in a development executive and look to create 30-minute and hour-long shows for the studio. Fazekas is enthusiastic about broadening into comedies as well as hour-long action-dramas like AGENT CARTER. Fazekas also praised the duo's constructive relationship with ABC Studios and ABC network.

    -------------------

    * "pod deal", a complete development deal that includes ownership of all projects making it impossible to shop a rejected project around

I've been watching AGENT CARTER religiously and feel it it exceptional in the "comic book genre" tv show division. I honestly cannot imagine AC not getting picked up for another season. Then again I felt the same way about ALMOST HUMAN (which I loved) and it got dumped. Could be the Curse of Pov.

Pretty much my reaction when I found out the news. That show had SO MUCH potential, but FOX ruined it by airing the episodes out of order... Firefly all over again...

I think you would enjoy watching the show Episodes.

    Just a few thoughts.

Seeing Dottie going all Black Widowish was pretty cool, and gives me further hope for a continuation of the series.

Thanks to those who expressed appreciation for ALMOST HUMAN. I was totally stunned when it was cancelled.

And a special thanks to 01TheDude for recommending EPISODES in light of the comments about bad cancellations of other shows. Just finished the first season and it is shockingly refreshing and funny, articulate and intelligent. Everything, apparently, PUCKS is not. So thanks Dude!

I've checked out "Episodes" in the past, I like it. Poverty Row, if you want some more hilarity, I HIGHLY recommend "Parks and Recreation", "Veep", "The Goldbergs", "Workaholics", "The League", "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", "Louie" and "House of Lies".

  12. They won't catch them. It's pretty easy to set up a machine to DDoS a network, especially when they rig it to send the requests from different IP's. What surprises me is that both Microsoft and Sony knew ahead of time that Lizard Squad were going to do this. I also cannot figure out how they haven't been able to come up with a way to deter these types of attacks. And a DDoS attack is not a hack, and it's pretty annoying when people keep calling this a hack attack. It clearly isn't.
