  1. It tells me that there (1) must not be that many more high grade raws out there or (2) the people that have them are not interested in selling/slabbing them.
  2. Heroes was a mini series comic book though and the comic was based on the TV show not the other way around. I don't think thats a great comparison. Sorry VM, I have to agree
  3. Correct: not all bubbles are the same And no, I don't get your point regarding radio active isotope decay And no, I'm not trying to be a smart *spoon* - just trying to say that (1) demand outstrips supply here (ECO101) (2) TWD property has multiple drivers of the #1 value (or perceived value) (3) until the demand is met on the market, prices will remain relatively constant (many variables determine straight auction prices : who's on the market that moment, budget, time of the year, perception, the seller, etc.)
  4. Just saying that 7300 is still a low print run considering the demand. Also, everything is a bubble. Every organization, individual, system, and government gets to a point where growth is not sustainable at a certain rate. It's unrealistic to expect a company to grow it's revenue stream 50% year after year. At some point, that growth is unsustainable and the 'bubble' pops or corrects or resets (whatever you wanna call it). If an individual has a goal to lose 5 lbs a week, at some point that becomes unsustainable. All metrics have a critical mass. When and how it's reached remains to be seen... I can keep going but I think you get the point.
  5. @rofoiii That is still a low print run. Not 4000 low, but low.
  6. Demand outstrips demand hence the premium price of TWD #1... You've got tens of thousands of fans (validated by current TWD print runs) that would love to get there hands on a #1. Less than 500 9.8's on the census. Just over 1500 total slabbed. Sure there are raws out there, but who knows the condition and they are not being dropped on the market en mass, but are available. I'd love to see prices come down to $500 for a 9.8, because I'd jump all over it... But I'm not holding my breath.
  7. Yo Cujo Yes, issue 3 going on 4 - good so far...
  8. I may be insane and wrong, but TWD IS one of the top-rated shows on TV and does drive people to the books. I don't forsee the show ending anytime soon (at least three years minimum). Am I missing something on the impending TWD books crash... spend some time in the CG area I have and was labeled a "WD defender coming out of the woodwork." I can say anything will fall: gold, silver, housing, retail, comics, the Euro, etc. And when it does say, "Told ya so." In the end, no one knows. It's anyone's best educated guess. I'm sure years from now that TWD will falter... the show will end and back issues will be forgotten about. Then in 15-20 years all those 12-18 year olds who "grew up watching TWD" will want to put a run together and prices will rise again. Kinda like me wanting a copy of TMNT #1 Heck... I paid $5 for a "Fryin' Ryan" Garbage Pail Kid... nostalgia nostalgia

  10. Revival #1 had a print run of around 18,000 - are there thousands of completed sales of that book on eBay?
  11. :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: :whee: Ryan is excited!
  12. Depends on condition, but I would think a low end desirable copy is going to run at least $200. Thanks Ryan, it arrived today, at around 65 bucks. (50€) Looks ok, some slight creasing, and on small scuff on the cover... Looks like a reasonable deal. Sounds like a good deal, but condition is everything. I would be happy to own this book, but would really want at least a 9.4 or better. With dark covers like the #33, spine stress and bends can really take away from the visual appeal. When you get into the 9.0/9.2 or lower field you start to see these defects in a noticable fashion. That's why I advocate for 9.4 or better on moderns. I have had 9.4's with no visible defects that I can detect on the cover. The eye appeal is outstanding, but the technical grade is lower. Here's some graded recent prices on the #33 (2nd) 9.8 Jun-08-2013 $600 Cert# 1165088001 Apr-29-2013 $600 Cert# 1164936011 Apr-03-2013 $600 Cert# 0207910001 9.6 May-01-2013 $300 Mar-04-2013 $213 Cert# 0204229011 Feb-10-2013 $191 Cert# 0205195001 9.4 May-31-2013 $400 9.2 Jun-20-2013 $325 Cert# 0212783004 Jun-06-2013 $225 Cert# 0205966010 Apr-16-2013 $200 Cert# 0205966010 Feb-04-2013 $125 Cert# 0198784008 I don't know about everyone else, but I would have loved to be the one that got that 9.6 for $191 on Feb 10th... ( or even the $213 9.6 )

  14. In my mind (and I'm probably wrong)... these teasers make me think it's some sort of open world MMO RPG type thing. Think TWD instead of WoW. Or like Skyrim style. Yeah, I'm probably way off base, but can see it.
  15. Will the real CBT, please stand up
  16. I agree, is it just me or is Revival particularly variant heavy?! Between Phantoms, recent CBLDF, and subsequent prints.... Yeah, there's a lot of Revival covers out here buddy. Leon
