Thank you to Kevin for all the hard work as usual. CGC was super easy to deal with on Friday Morning. Also, Carlos at Gotham Central for looking after my Signature Series requests.

I usually go on Thursdays, but decided to try a Friday for a change and found the place to be way busier then Thursday last year.

Picked up a few books - Nothing too pricey.

Good time all round as the kids also enjoyed their time. Will be back again next year for sure.

Thank you all who responded. I will see what can be worked out with CGC at the show and if it does not work out for whatever reason I will speak to Carlos.

So, this Malcolm Merlyn would just be a reinvention for Rebirth? Not new by any means, just a different person picking up the mantle of the Dark Archer.

I gave up on this one due to being delayed.

People finding "rare" variants in 3 and 4 dollar grab bags is proof that more of these are printed than given out to retailers. The companies make reasonable assumptions of overall sales on any given book, plus some overage on all print runs. Variants are no different. There are more copies than were sent to stores, and there are more copies than most collects actually want there to be.

Like I said earlier... if book X sells 80,000 copies and there is a 1:100 variant why not print the 800 variants in order to fill orders, back ups for damages and to have a fire sale in three packs or their monthly variant blowout.

just a quick thought...what if for example Amazing Spider-Man #? sold this month Diamond received 80,000 orders. I would believe that Diamond would insure that they have 800 Copies of a 1:100 Variant available even though like you said the ratio should not be considered an easy divide calculation.

Maybe this is why we see highly sought after variants making their way to 3 packs and whatnot?

I believe the ones in your post were left over stock form previous fanexpo shows. The new one reg & foil were available at Toronto Fanexpo, The foil sold out within hours....all mostly damaged. I believe Dre was the only one who was able to score 9.8's.

Seller came through and delivered the Comic. I will be returning the refund.

It is a rare book in high grade, but he's listing the same graded book over and over. These aren't legitimate sales that are just falling through.

I get it, but by asking him he will know that people are onto his shady practice. In the end E-Bay should cut this person_without_enough_empathy loose.

Luckily, she survived the trip, but box got so much handling wear, the # of 5000 got rubbed out and I can barely make it out.

 

That is just outright sad...send it back and with any luck she does not make the return trip in one piece to teach the seller a lesson.
