  1. Which pretty much summarizes why I don't personally impart any value to slabbed books, and why I haven't slabbed any in years. The only reason I would buy a slabbed book would be at a significant discount or if I REALLY wanted it due to rarity.
  2. No offense intended MG, but which service pressed that copy?
  3. I know I have this book, but lord knows where it's hiding . . .
  4. In general, but weird stuff happens. I sent in a Hulk 181 with an obvious pen-written date on the cover and received a Green Label "ink on cover" notation. I called before they shipped it out and had it changed. Of course, this is when they used to have "true" customer service (and didn't make as many errors as they do now.)
  5. Nice, but this should be in the "Adventures in the dollar box" thread.
  6. Years ago. It hasn’t been a $20 book for a while.
  7. If that's not the classic seller's taunt . . . I don't know what is.
  8. Help me out here, but isn't that a Canadian newsstand variant on top of the MJI???
  9. Less and less sellers are breaking books out by the artists these days . . . sad, but true.
  10. If you're a novice to CGC, you'll probably be disappointed. Put it up on feebay if you want to sell it, otherwise just keep it in a nice Mylar and enjoy it for the memories it brings you.
  11. Yes that's from the newsprint "grabber" - see DiceX's thread in the grading and restoration forum for a fuller explanation. Generally, it won't impact the grade unless it's on the cover (which is a common occurrence in BA books.)
  12. That will change soon enough . . . (as I have all four variants of #4)
  13. Greg will chime in soon with the definitive answer, but wasn't it first???
  14. Are they paying back the government for their $250 billion bailout?
