  1. i agree, they can price their pages whatever they want, you accept to pay for it or not (same goes for everyday stuff if you think about it, you overpay for a lot of things)

but the problem is that they cheat a lot (without ever really cheating), never explaining simple things

    - selling cover color guides as original painted covers (the only hint you have is the size of the page, but if you never have bought color guides, you can't know that point)

    - selling inks over bluelines as original art (for example, on eBay, they only explain that some art thy sell "may" be inks only, but as this sentence is put on every auctions they have, you don't know if the page you're looking at is concerned or not

    and so on

  2. altough dell otto is really good, i always thought he was over rated......about 18 months ago, i met his "official" original art dealer in italy, who back then was selling his covers for about 4000-5000$

i always thought it was a bit expensive, and that the dell otto hype would go down....but about one year ago, his dealer decided to sell his covers directly from 4-5000$ to 15000-20000$

and i thought that he was crazy, that people would think like me and would boycott this sudden 300% rise, that the dealer would understand his mistake once he'd see that nothing sells, but to my surprise, every cover sells pretty quickly .....and it seems the prices will never go down

last april in paris (France), he was charging 600 euros (!!!!) for simple commissions (which is completely crazy i think), but i was surprised again when i saw how many people were lining up to get a sketch from him (the line was full everyday and all day long)

  3. Are you kidding me with these responses? I know a lot of people have issues with Doug and his past however, reading Randy's responses on here I would not even consider wasting my time on any original art from Pedigree. The lack of professionalism is incredible especially for a place that is starting a new venture. Go eat some burgers and go back to Mr. Lahey.

    nuff said !!

    honestly :

    - doug = 1st alarm ringing

    - if you add the donnely bros, well.....that's 2 bad signs in the same place, and 2 famous ones at that

so avoid these auctions at all cost
