  1. Looks like high grade pre-code are going to get even scarcer. Great books Jeff. Congrats.
  2. Here's one I just got back from CGC. Heroes, Hypos and Headlights.
  3. Don't I know it! ..... I actually started as Everett only. Then I started with Maneely. Then Anderson caught my eye. It's actually gotten to where It's hard to think of one's I DON'T like.... Some of the artists that I've grown to like actually came to my attention in the War titles first. If I had been more open minded I'd have started putting together more books a lot sooner.... when they were much cheaper. One thing I like about this thread is the willingness of posters to feature some interiors. I'm not going to make the elitist statements about no one likeing the stories anymore.... but it is nice to come here and see people who are still passionate about the artform. It was especially nice when PCalhoun joined.... I thought he was gone forever when CBM folded..... this internet thing certainly makes for a vast neighborhood. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u It would be a lot better neighborhood if you kids stayed off my Atlas lawn ....... oooo, mister, lemme hold 'dem comics ........ GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Can I hold it next PLEEEZE!
  4. I don't think I've seen this one before. Spokane White pager. Nice book!!
  5. Hi. Is he a board member ? He has a few Tecs on his web site I could be interested in. However, mixed reviews about this fellow. ..... He isn't on the boards but has been in business since the dawn of time. He probably gives one of the most detailed descriptions on eBay. If you want unrestored.... read his description carefully. If he has "none" listed next to Conservation, Restoration, and Repairs.... then it's very likely OK. His return policy is super. With you out of country that's probably not a route you want to take, understandably. I'd call him up and arrange a time for him to pull the books to go over with you. He knows as much about comics as anyone you'll ever meet. The first time I ever met him I was in line to speak with him.... that's how he does it at shows.... one at a time. He was showing an unrestored Detective Comics 28 in about 5.0 to a fellow..... it was priced at $ 2500..... yes, it was a LONG time ago. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u When you have him on the phone, be sure to mention CGC. He loves to chat about CGC.
  6. Great books Jayman. That splash would have made a classic cover.
  7. Sweet book!!! I've been keeping my eye out for a nice copy for years.
  8. Nice Ditko trio! That Unusual Tales has been on my want list for quite a while now! +1 It's very unusual to find one for sale.
  9. Great idea for a thread. I could have used some of this information when I was new (not that long ago). One thing I would change is the title name to HELPFUL GUIDE FOR NEW MEMBERS. It sounds more inviting and less...condescending for new people. I hope this thread gets stickied. It would be a great help for new members.
  10. Both great covers on those Adventure into Terror's. My "want list' keeps getting longer and longer.
  11. There is a very determined battle going on between two bidders here! Currently approaching 6k territory - I wonder where it will end up? I wonder what a CGC label would look like on that book.
  12. Thanks Jayman. I've been trying to get a nice Witches Tales 5 for a long time.
  13. These two Harveys just came back from Sarasota. Both are single highest graded.
