  1. Anybody know what a Austin Books variant is? I see a presell of the #2 variant for this. Never heard of it.

I think it's the Rafael Albequerque cover. I saw it on twitter a few days ago. There's also a Jeff Lemire shop variant cover floating around out there. Tons of variants for this one, especially considering it's the second issue. At least they're picking quality artists.

Thanks! Very true about the artists. I have not "disliked" any of the covers so far.

  2. I called X-Factor 6 as soon as it was announced DOFP would have time travel and Bishop in it.

The next book to snag up is probably Uncanny 221 first Sinister. Where there's Apocalypse there is always Sinister.

Now if only someone could confirm Darkhawk appearing in a Phase 3 movie.

On top of those, I have to believe that X-Factor #24 will start heating up soon also. With Apocalypse, the Horsemen have to be around, and Archangel is a shoe in. Get em now.

  3. We've discussed this one already but New Teen Titans #44 in VF @ $28 & 29 watchers. (thumbs u

:gossip: I *think* this book may be ready to explode soon.

I sold a 9.6 for $120 shipped and a raw VF for $35 shipped last week.

Based on Superman Batman film rumors or his death rumors?

I think it's a little of both. For Nightwing, it is a perfect storm. Nothing bigger than death rumors in comics, and movie rumors for cinema fans. And I agree 100%, these are going to explode. On top of this comic, any other hot Nightwing comics out there? Besides the new 52 stuff. I know he was in a Harley Quinn comic back in the day, I believe HQ #11.

  4. Every Spider-Man book that Campbell has done the cover for has ALWAYS been $$$$$. Look around for yourself. ASM 500, 601, 606, 607, 648, 688 and 700, as well as the v2 30-35, and the Ultimate Spider-Man 150 and 152 are all valuable books, especially graded 9.8. For those of you wondering if you should sell or flip, look on the bay for a copy of 648 and tell me you should sell anytime soon. I have my 2 copies that i managed to get today, and i assure you they are not going anywhere anytime soon, except to florida and back.

You forgot about Amazing Spiderman Vol.2 #52 AKA #493 + #53 AKA #494. Cambell also another nice Black Cat Variant that no one really talks about, it's Amazing Spiderman #612. He also has a really nice Psylocke Variant which is Uncanny X-Men #510. That Variant that sells pretty good too.

I always pick up 52 and 53 for cheap.....eventually those will get higher....but for now you can grab them in the $1 bins!

And 612 is Black Cat by McGuinness not Campbell. Getting harder to find though.

  5. No, he is talking about the mini series that came out sometime in 2008 or 2009 .. the book sucks and it just that one issue variant cover that is drawn by Campbell worth something .. otherwise you can find that regular series in the $1 box.

yep, that's the one. horrible story. variant was the only good part of the storyline.

  6. I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying there are plenty of low priced listings for early issues of this book on ebay at the moment. And variants for issue 10.

Back on topic, while I believe this may have been alluded to or mentioned before, The Dark Knight Returns has been selling pretty well over the last week or so at around $25 in "near mint".

What issues are hot right now? The whole series?

  7.

My thinking is that the X-Force team will have Cable in it. I would grab a few New Mutants 87's now. I would not be surprised to see a cameo of him, or a teaser of him in the new X-Men movie, considering it has to do with time travel and things like that.

  8. I shutter to think if DC would've found a killer actor for both Supes and Batman years ago and stayed loyal and consistent through all the movies like Hugh Jackman has for Wolverine. IMO they would be reaping the rewards a lot more than currently. 2c

Wolverine Origins sucked donkey scrote- what's your point?

ugghh another movie Ryan Reynolds ruined....that guy is like movie kryptonite

Remember when he was in good movies? You know, 2002?

Even his good movies were mess.

Got me to thinking.... what was Ryan Reynolds stand out role? The one that just set it off? That's a toughie

?? Van Wilder was is kind of break-out role I think, and the one he's probably most associated with.

Didn't see Buried, but looks good, and I could see him being good in this, although I wouldn't say it's high profile, even if it is good.

He was great in Waiting, but didn't carry the movie. It was mostly a good ensemble cast and good writing.

    ?? ?? ??

PS. Ever notice how SO many actors have GIANT faces/heads??

Look at Ryan Reynolds and Ben Affleck. They each must have like 40 pounds of face.

The only Reynolds movies I liked were Buried and then Amityville Horror. That's it.

  9. Kinda off the subject but remember that Syfy cheesy movie a few of us were posting about Sharknado? Well it was pretty bad I watched an hour of it but it was a twitter event. Even though it was bad everyone was commenting on it. It was a flop yet Syfy got a big boost in ratings from it. BTW it was hilarious, Tara Reid still can't act, and the effects looked just crazy.

LMAO!!! Hilarious....for some stupid reason, I actually watched it! Horrendous, but it is an internet craze today....everyone is talking about it. I think it might turn into some cult classic real quick. I love the sounds the sharks made when they were eating people. Sounded like crumpling papers. Also, Ian Ziering also cannot act.
