This baby should be getting to me soon! It´s a sentimental favorite of mine as it was the only complete Batman Neal Adams Novaro I remember owning as a kid before my Mother burned all of my collection as punishment! At the prices they are going now, I´m sure she regrets having done so! or, then again,maybe not!

Don´t remember if I ever shared this: what you see in this panel is Iris Allen getting a haircut at my very own Beauty Parlor as depicted in the very first Flash comic I translated for Novaro in the late Eighties.

Wow! Where did you find those spectre Halcon de Oro? I have those same ones, but they are really hard to come by....

So this is a second edition? The typographic lettering in that Helvetica-like typeface is really awful. It seems a german Disney comic (they used to do that). It is a Novedades first print. The La Prensa edition preceded this one by several years. And you are right, I hated it when they decided to go from hand lettering to computer generated text. Sometimes editors can be real Stronzi!

What they did in this Italian reprint was reproduce the cover to the French edition but the inside was transalated into Italian. The back cover states that this was part of the Collezione COMIC-BOOKS USA and was published as some sort of give away to the members of "AL FUMETTO CLUB". Publication date is April-May 1988.

Wait a second! Is that Iris Allen asking me to do her hair? Maybe that´s why her marriage to Mr. Barry Allen was going down the drain at the time. I was lucky enough to use my pet name "Gus" for the Beauty Salon´s name in spanish and the paste-up guy´s at Novaro went for it. It was only three letters, anyway. This comes from Flash 273 (Batman Avestruz 20 EN) She says she´d do anything to save her marriage, (that included letting me mess with her look, I guess.

That happened to some of Novaro´s variants, too sometimes. The fact that twho pages were stcuk together at the corner, I mean.

When I saw this Italian version of the French trade paperback reprinting the first part of Adams´ Deadman run, I immediately bought only to find that it is an oversized reprinting in Italian of the first appearance only! Maybe Claudio knows more abut this? Sai qualcosa su questo?

This is one of the gems in my collection: O universo DC Ilustrado por Neal Adams in Brazilian Portuguese. The quality of the printing and the sleek high grade paper beat the American version hands down. Only thing missing is the Hard Cover, but I still friggin´love it!

These babies just came out as WEEKLY specials in Mexico. I bought the entire set and have extra copies of 3, 4 and 5 if anyone´s interested.

How about this one to complement LSComics post on Morbius Mexican variants? And, to top it off, the splash page of this Mexican variant featuring the name of that pesky translator´s name printed on it!
