Years ago I'd help my friend set up at GenCon gaming convention. Think I did that for 5 years total. Was so annoying that they wouldn't turn the A/C on for loading day so you'd be sweating bullets about 20 minutes in. Could only imagine moving comic stuff. His stuff wasn't as heavy...

You guys might want to avoid buying any books from this seller.
tdublogan
Bought a book from him and it was shipped in just a plain yellow mailer envelope with one piece of bubble wrap inside and that's it! He didn't even have the decency to write "DO NOT BEND" or anything on the envelope. You can imagine how bent and crumpled up the book arrived. When I brought the issue up to him, he claims he bubble wrapped the book and is blaming USPS for the damage. WTF is one sheet of bubble wrap going to do!? Needless to say, this looks like it will have to escalate to Ebay for resolution.
Interesting! I just sold a set to this dude about a week ago and it was delivered, but he hasn't left me positive feedback yet.
I went all out in packaging it to avoid damage. Hopefully he sees how I did it and maybe will rub off on him, but I doubt it....

I think Paypal Credit leads some to overpay online vs. cash in person, just a hunch....

Purchased both a Vault of Horror #26 CGC 9.0 White Mountain Ped and a Weird Fantasy #8 CGC 6.5. Everything came securely packed and quickly.
Thank you so much Don! Look forward to being a repeat customer in the future!!!

Very nice set but the couple that I looked at were early 80's. Not sure when CGC cuts off the bronze age, but not sure you'd quality for copper.
Regardless, very nice achievement in pulling those all together...

Perfect transaction! Books came securely and in great shape!

IMHO, the CGC has tightened up on their grading, possibly a little too much.

Will be curious to crack mine out and see, but I've seen that mentioned around the boards.
Had to be internal defects. I'll admit that if the book looks new and unread, I don't review checking the interior because I fear I'll fingerprint or worse, make a crease or small tear by looking at them.
I guess I'm taking a $30 gamble per book in that case, that's life...

Pittsburgh Comics is awesome, as are NDCs, Duncan Comics, etc, but Eide's is the worst comic shop I've ever been in.
Except for one guy, the comic employees are all "Comic Shop Guy" and I never leave there not feeling like I've been disrespected by them.
They must only treat the high-rollers well because they are a bunch of jerks.
Example : Was purchasing a 8.5 Swamp Thing (1972) #1 just because I'm a Wrightson fan, didnt really care about high grade. Employee in the background : Why would you buy that? Can't you afford the 9.4?
Now I'm in financial management, and pull down a pretty decent salary but I didn't bother to call him out on it, but that's the the typical transaction with them. I always hear them saying similar things to other customers as well, so I haven't been back there for over a year now because they aren't worth it. F' them....

But they have 100% Feedback, they must be awesome!!
Just proof that some sellers truly do deserve negative feedback...

Awesome stuff!!!

let see the EC Fan-Addict club kits, show your certificates, patches, members cards and pins
my certificate is #12673 with the same member card with a unused patch.
This is cool stuff!! I'm wondering if anyone has the pictures of the Ghoulunatics that they were always trying to sell in the letters pages. I've gotten through about 20 of the EC Archives books and it must have been a decent revenue stream for them since they mentioned them so often.

Another question I have for those that do use slab pro's is what size of cgc boxes do yo use to store them in do they still fit in the normal sized boxes or is it better to buy boxes for the size of magazines?

I don't think you'll get the CGC boxes or the Magazine boxes to work, unless you stored the books sideways. Just based on what I see from them now, as I've used both (magazine first, until I had enough to get a 5-pack of the CGC boxes from eBay...)

Such a great collection!! Welcome, and looking forward to more pictures!!

Hey 1Cool, do you ever make it over to the Pittsburgh area? I think I'm trying to get out of comics. I have about 15 short boxes of $5 and under books, then a few complete sets/runs and TPBs that are filling up 15 or so other short boxes (complete Fables runs, Preacher, Y-last man, Sandman, etc...).
I'm not trying to firesale them but thinking about getting rid of all of it in one-shot. Not asking you to make a separate trip but if you are ever in Pittsburgh, let me know.
The only thing I'm going to hang out to are my EC Comics from the golden age.
